由于柑橘种植国家/地区的本国人群只需一小部分产品,因此果汁通常经过浓缩处理以进行出口。浓缩处理在蒸发器中进行,水分被蒸发出果汁,直到果汁缩减到原体积的约五分之一。然后,在消费国/地区添加特殊比例的水分,并以柑橘汁、柑橘果肉饮料或柑橘饮品的形式出售。
在附加的生产线中,可以获得宝贵的香精油。柑橘皮经过机械处理,并冲洗出宝贵的香精油。获得的油水乳剂经过两级离心系统的分离,从而在经济上得到最佳收益的成品——清澈、珍贵的香精油。这种香精油是广受欢迎的香精,可用于食品、饮料、化妆品和制药行业。
