Up to 2% higher beer yield
Make more saleable beer from the same raw materials by recovering beer that would otherwise leave the process with surplus yeast.
Recover value that would otherwise be lost
Surplus yeast contains a significant share of beer. GEA plug & win Beer Recovery separates this beer from the yeast and returns it to the production stream. Automated transfer, recovery, dosing and cleaning cycles integrate the solution into brewery operations for efficient and hygienic beer recovery.
Key benefits with GEA plug & win Beer Recovery
Higher yield
Recover beer from surplus yeast and increase total brewery yield by up to 2%.Integrated process
Automated transfer, separation, dosing and cleaning support smooth integration into brewery operations.Flexible return points
Dose recovered beer back at the point that best matches the brewery process and quality concept.Consistent operation
Run the recovery process while normal green beer processing continues. How it works

From surplus yeast to recovered beer
After fermentation, surplus yeast is transferred to a yeast buffer tank.
Once sufficient volume is available, a centrifuge separates the remaining beer from the yeast. Optional in-line dilution can be used depending on yeast consistency.
The recovered beer is collected in a recovered beer buffer tank.
The recovered beer is automatically dosed back into the brewery process at the selected return point.
Automated cleaning cycles prepare the system for the next recovery run.

In-line dilution
When required by the yeast consistency, de-aerated water can be added in-line. Dilution supports the extraction of alcohol and extract from the yeast phase and can increase recovery performance.
Designed around brewery operations
- Recovery can run while regular green beer processing continues.
- Transfer, recovery, dosing and cleaning cycles are integrated into the overall process concept.
- The solution targets beer losses associated with fresh yeast and tank bottoms.
- Recovered beer quality depends on the quality of the source material; rapid processing and cold yeast storage are important process considerations.
High yield. Constant quality.
A process-integrated approach to recover saleable beer while preserving the brewery’s established production flow.

Innovating for impact: betere oplossingen voor klanten ontwikkelen
