At EuroTier 2026 (November 10–13, Hanover, Germany, Hall 13, Booth C25), GEA will show how digital and automated technologies can help farms address current challenges such as labor shortages, cost pressure and rising expectations for animal welfare. Under the anniversary theme “100 Years of Farm Innovation,” GEA will present its portfolio for modern dairy farming – from milking systems and automated feeding to intelligent herd management. Building on more than 100 years of experience, GEA combines proven know-how with connected next-generation systems. Trade fair highlights include the anniversary edition of the DairyRobot R9500 in GEA’s Kinetic Edge product design, a new system for semi-automated group milking in conventional milking parlors and solutions for using data across multiple farm sites as well as camera-based cow identification.

GEA DairyRobot with a new look – and more intelligence for daily barn routines
With the DairyRobot R9500, GEA will present the anniversary edition of its automatic milking system for the first time in the group-wide Kinetic Edge product design. In addition to the updated appearance, the latest development includes a range of functional and digital enhancements for everyday barn operations. These include a larger control screen, a new status display concept, optimizations in the milking process and additions within GEA DairyNet, including CattleEye and AutoDry for automatic milking systems as well as a multi-farm management module for farms operating at several sites.
Semi-subway concept for automated group milking
To meet the needs of different farm concepts, GEA is expanding its portfolio with the DairyRobot R9600, adding a semi-subway concept for automated group milking. The solution combines fixed milking times, predictable operating routines and automated processes with lower civil engineering requirements, providing an additional option particularly for medium-sized to large farms and modernization projects.
GEA DairyProX: Automation boost for conventional milking parlors with subway
For dairy farms looking to continue using their existing conventional milking parlors while increasing the level of automation, GEA is introducing DairyProX, a new semi-automated milking system. In this setup, teat cup attachment remains a manual task, while the In-Liner-Everything technology performs much of the milking routine inside the teat cup itself automatically. This can include stimulation, teat cleaning, dipping procedures and milking processes as well as backflushing of the teat cups. Initial experience from pilot farms suggests the system has the potential to increase throughput, reduce labor requirements and support improvements in milk quality metrics.
Initially launched in North America for selected system configurations, DairyProX serves as the foundation for GEA’s ongoing evaluation of potential future applications in additional milking systems and regions.
New sensor generation for precise milk data in rotary milking systems
GEA will also show the Digital Flow Meter at EuroTier, a sensor generation for measuring milk yield in conventional rotary milking systems. The sensor records the actual milk volume directly in the milk flow, supports high flow rates and provides precise data for the milking process, herd management and milk recording. GEA is responding to the increasing performance requirements of modern dairy farms and the growing importance of accurate, digitally available data. With the Digital Flow Meter, GEA replaces the Metatron milk yield measuring device.
Connected data – integrated by design and scaled in the cloud
As sensors and assistance systems generate increasing volumes of data, intelligently connecting and analyzing this information in herd management software is becoming more important. With CowScout Cloud, GEA presents the next generation of connected herd monitoring. The cloud-based solution centralizes individual cow monitoring data, enables multi-farm management by consolidating and evaluating animal and operational information across sites, and integrates with GEA DairyNet as well as – depending on the farm structure – other herd management systems. The unlimited data history provides full visibility into developments throughout a cow’s entire lifecycle, enabling more targeted herd management.
GEA DairyNet Cow Verification: Greater security in animal identification
In addition to CowScout Cloud, GEA is introducing DairyNet Cow Verification, a new camera-based solution that further safeguards the data foundation in rotary milking systems. Using AI-powered visual recognition and machine learning, the system identifies each cow by her visual characteristics directly in the milking stall and confirms or corrects the cow ID in real time – even if RFID data is missing or incorrect. This helps ensure that milking and feeding data are reliably assigned to the correct animal, even in crowded entry situations – an essential basis for accurate management decisions.
From automated feeding to AI-supported herd management
The trade fair presentation will also include additional technologies and system components for key areas of milk production. These include automated feeding systems, digital assistance and AI-supported applications within DairyNet to support herd management, as well as further developments in milking systems, liners, service and hygiene solutions, and manure management.
The Smart Farm will provide an interactive view of these technologies: using a VR headset, visitors can experience different solutions virtually. The booth program is complemented by a Gaming Corner, where systems and processes can be explored in practical scenarios using Farming Simulator.
DLG Spotlight “Barn Robot Event”: Practical comparison
The DLG Spotlight “Barn Robot Event” – also located in Hall 13 – will enable a practical comparison of automated milking systems. Together with other manufacturers, GEA will present moderated live demonstrations covering three identical practical scenarios. The focus will be on transitioning from conventional milking parlors to automatic milking systems, concepts for new barn construction and solutions for milking large herds. The format is part of DLG’s new “EuroTier Milky Way 2026” exhibition platform.
With its presence at EuroTier 2026, GEA will show how a century of experience in milk production can be combined with automation, artificial intelligence and connected data solutions to support dairy farmers in meeting the challenges of today and tomorrow.
More than 100 years of farm innovation: From the milking bucket to connected milk production
GEA’s roots in dairy farming technology go back to 1926, when Ramesohl und Schmidt oHG in Oelde, Germany, launched its first commercial bucket milking system. From these beginnings emerged the later Westfalia Separator AG, which helped shape modern milking technology over several decades and advanced innovations such as pulsators and mobile milking systems. Today, GEA continues this tradition in its Farm Technologies division.
