Requirements for the quality and purity of water have been increasing over recent years. The water that we drink requires reliable and consistent technology to carry out any treatment that occurs between the spring and the bottle. Processing technologies need to ensure that physiologically important and desired ingredients are retained, whilst undesirable ingredients in the water, such as dissolved gases, and especially dissolved oxygen, are removed, prior to further carbonation.

We can provide a complete portfolio of components, modules and process lines for every stage and process, from reception and liquid/dry raw materials handling and storage, to processing, formulation and treatment, along with complete filling lines, for still, sparkling and flavored water.
GEA’s solutions include leading edge, integrated technologies and processes for water treatment, including solutions for deaeration, and pasteurization using plate or tubular heat exchange equipment, along with liquid processing equipment spanning homogenizers, centrifugal pumps, components for batch or inline mixing or blending, and valves for aseptic and hygienic processing. Hygienic valves have been manufactured by GEA for over 80 years. They are the core component in matrix-piped process plants and contribute significantly to the highest product quality. GEA can in addition offer leading edge, effective and environmentally sustainable solutions for cleaning-in-place (CIP) and tank cleaning. And to ensure plant efficiency and optimized operation, we provide automation and process control software for bottled water plants.

De doorbraak die het sproeidrogen veranderde
In 1976 gingen de ingenieurs van NIRO een concurrentie-uitdaging aan door de mogelijkheden van sproeidrogen opnieuw te bekijken. Hun idee leidde tot de meertraps droger MSD. De kleppen in voedingsmiddelen- en drankinstallaties worden doorgaans met perslucht bediend. GEA Hydract® Actuation Technology stuurt kleppen daarentegen aan met water, in een gesloten, digitaal geregeld circuit. Het resultaat is een klep die precies op zijn plaats kan worden gehouden en in nauwkeurig afgestemde stappen kan worden aangestuurd. Dit leidt tot een lager energieverbruik en meer controle.
