Automated filling machine for breading crumbs
The GEA BreadingFeeder is a dedicated machine designed for feeding a wide range of bread crumbs into the GEA CrumbMaster. The BreadingFeeder reduces the labor requirement, while the large crumb buffer helps to reduce downtime and supports faster product changeover.

The GEA BreadingFeeder provides automatic crumb filling for the GEA CrumbMaster. It communicates with the CrumbMaster in real-time for automatic crumb refills. The machine handles fine and coarse crumbs equally efficiently and has a 240-liter hopper. The breading crumb is transported through a vertical auger directly into the GEA CrumbMaster. Downtime is minimized by continually refilling the supply hopper in the breading machine.

Last year was not a year of hyped-up headlines for alternative proteins. Perhaps that is precisely why it was an important year for food biotech, the biotechnology behind everyday foods and ingredients. In short: headlines are turning into infrastructure. Frederieke Reiners heads GEA’s New Food business. She and her team work at the intersection of biotechnology and industrial food production. In this interview, she takes us on a world tour of food biotech in seven questions.
