A New Era in Lameness Detection

CattleEye is our advanced solution for autonomous livestock monitoring. The system uses artificial intelligence to identify cows individually, detect lameness and assess body condition contactless and automatically. A simple camera installation in the barn is all it takes.

Lameness is a common issue on dairy farms with far-reaching consequences, including higher veterinary costs, reduced milk production, and decreased animal welfare. Hoof diseases and related lameness are the third most common cause of premature culling in dairy cows, making them a significant financial risk. CattleEye enables early countermeasures by using advanced AI to monitor Locomotion and Body Condition Score (BCS). Through video analysis, the system identifies cows needing hoof trimming or treatment, helping to control lameness. At the same time, BCS tracking provides insights into nutritional needs and supports timely feed adjustments. This dual approach improves herd health, performance and animal welfare while reducing the carbon footprint and supporting next-generation farming.

CattleEye can be integrated into various barn layouts and different milking systems. The software is compatible with GEA milking technology as well as with milking and herd management systems from other manufacturers.

At least 1 MBps internet connection to be able to upload video data to the cloud.
A security camera mounted over a straight walking lane, connected to the internet
An RFID-system to facilitate automatic enrollment of your herd and improve identification accuracy.
CattleEye data is now seamlessly integrated into DairyNet, giving you a unified view of your herd’s mobility, body condition and performance.
This integration turns objective camera-based insights into clear, actionable information directly within your herd management platform.

The DairyNet Dashboard includes new widgets for faster monitoring.
The BCS widget shows the average BCS of your herd by days in milk. You can filter by barn or lactation and display individual cows to spot animals below or above the herd average.
The Lameness widget gives an instant view of healthy and lame cows, helping you track herd mobility trends at a glance.

CattleEye and DairyNet bring your herd’s wellbeing into clear focus from daily mobility to long-term trends. A connected system that helps you protect cows and improve performance.

Major milestones in fiscal year 2025 were admission to the DAX index, the award of one of the largest contracts in the company’s history, and streamlining of the corporate structure.
