A versatile sifting platform
The GEA Scan-Vibro sifters can be used as industrial sifters, food processing sifters and as security screening equipment, as well as for fine grading and dust removal, or as dewatering sifters. Our sifting technology can be configured to handle a range of product types and tasks, from fine-grading freeze-dried coffee, to removing tea leaves from ready-to-drink teas, processing cereals, and reworking ice cream.
Sifting technology for food safety
Scan-Vibro equipment can be configured to give you gentle handling for delicate products, and we also offer USDA 3-A-compliant sifters for the beverage industry, and dedicated sifter testing services.We can design our sifters using a range of materials and screen types - dependent on your application and product - and integrate systems into pneumatic conveying lines or gravity-fed systems.

In-house Pilot Testing
Customers wishing to evaluate our solutions with their products are welcome to use GEA’s in-house testing
facilities. A simple test can establish the correct sifter specifications and thereby provide peace of mind for
customers prior to investment.
ViwateQ® treatment
The ability to perform this finishing in-house reduces costs and manufacturing time, as well as improving the environmental footprint. The process is required in particular by food, pet food, and pharmaceutical customers who need their equipment surfaces to be highly polished and hygienic.
ViwateQ® treatment – hygienic surface finish
We can also offer GEA Scan-Vibro equipment finished using the ViwateQ® finishing technology. ViwateQ® is an innovative surface treatment that creates highly polished, hygienic surfaces inside and out on stainless steel processing equipment. The treatment is chemical-free and has zero impact on the environment.
ViwateQ® surface treatment can be of particular value for food, pet food, and pharmaceutical customers who need their equipment surfaces to be highly polished and hygienic. ViwateQ® removes all unwanted contaminants from the surface of stainless steel - including the burned weld area – leaving it extremely smooth. The surface treatment minimizes the adhesion of dirt and bacteria, considerably reducing the risk of contamination as well as enabling quicker and more effective cleaning. The resulting polished surface can also make it easier to handle naturally sticky products.

Customers can use our in-house testing facilities to evaluate their products on GEA equipment. We can carry out a simple test to establish optimum sifter specifications so that you can be confident of performance and results before investing.
