First-time-right spiral cooking
The GEA CookStar First is a compact, industrial spiral oven designed for small to mid-sized food processing lines. As the latest addition to GEA’s market-leading CookStar family, it delivers first-time-right spiral cooking and replicates that ‘home-cooked’ quality at scale.
The GEA CookStar First industrial spiral oven introduces twin-zone spiral cooking to small and mid-sized food processors for the first time. Its innovative design combines horizontal and vertical airflow with unique three-phase cooking to precisely control time, temperature, humidity, and air circulation. This ensures consistent, efficient cooking across a wide range of food applications and delivers maximum flexibility. As production scales, processors can easily upgrade to higher-capacity GEA CookStar systems with minimal operational disruption.
The GEA CookStar First industrial spiral oven is ideal for small to mid-sized food processing operations, producing steam-cooked products, coated poultry, plant-based foods, baked or grilled products and ready meals.
At just 3.9m high, the GEA CookStar First is the lowest spiral oven on the market allowing it to fit easily into most brown-field sites. Its extensive functionality means the oven can accommodate a wide range of products and adapt as demands change. With their matching footprints, larger CookStar ovens can replace the ‘First’, as the business grows.
GEA has designed its CookStar First to provide the highest level of performance and efficiency in its class to give manufacturers increased throughput and yield. Key features include:
Fully automatic climate and exhaust control contributes to achieving a 12% reduction in energy and water consumption earning GEA CookStar First the GEA Add-Better environmental label.
The GEA SmartControl Premium HMI, standard on the GEA CookStar First, manages daily operation efficiently. The system also is the ideal tool to help shift managers coach, optimize and correct machine operations to improve daily efficiency.
