从动力喷嘴出来的液体喷射流会在扩散器的入口锥体内形成部分真空，从而将液体从液体喷射混合器周围区域吸入罐内。动力喷嘴会混合夹带的液体并加快流动的速度。从液体喷射混合器出来的液体混合物呈圆锥形扩散，并从罐周围夹带更多的液体前进。
如果正确布置一台或多台这种液体喷射混合器，可在储罐中形成三维液流，从而均匀地混合罐内的所有液体和固体成分。
