Amine treating plants remove CO2 (carbon dioxide) and H2S (hydrogen sulfide) from natural gas. Amine has a natural affinity for both CO2 and H2S, which enables a very efficient and effective removal process.
In order to have a stable and reliable amine processing plant in operation, it is of cruical importance to avoid fouling, corrosion and deposition in the system both on the enriched amine solution and on the lean amine solution. Such fouling, corrosion and deposition can be controlled and mitigated by maintaining the rich and the lean amine solution.
Apart from filtration systems widely used by the industry, high-speed disk-stack centrifuges can also play an important role in ensuring that the amine solutions well maintained. Here, GEA centrifuges play a key role in removing unwanted particles to levels below 5 micron with a removal efficiency of > 95%.
