GEA meVap® Calculator
Across all four product areas, the unifying principle is the temperature increase generated by electrically driven mechanical fans. This higher temperature serves as an energy source for downstream thermal process steps. The meVap® concept combines two strong components into one integrated solution:
- Mechanical vapor recompression technology
- Process units such as evaporation, distillation, and crystallization
GEA has been a pioneer in this field for decades and offers an extensive track record of successful installations. As one of Germany’s top 40 industrial companies, GEA provides cross‑industry expertise, solid financial strength, and long‑term reliability. Innovation is driven by in‑house R&D and the transfer of concepts across different application areas.
GEA takes a holistic approach to process engineering, focusing equally on plant performance, operational simplicity, and user‑friendliness. meVap® systems offer strong performance reserves, ensuring stable operation even under challenging conditions. Customers trust GEA not only for proven technology and process know‑how, but also for its strong global presence and comprehensive service network—today and in the future.
What are the customer benefits of using GEA meVap®?
- Reduced need for external heating energy through the reuse of process vapor as a heating medium in suitable applications.
- Support for process electrification by using electrically driven fans as part of the MVR-based heating concept.
- Application-specific process design based on evaporation, distillation, and crystallization know-how combined with MVR technology.
- Process optimization and digital support options can help customers monitor operation, identify improvement potential, and support plant availability after commissioning.
- Customer-oriented project approach with engineering, implementation, and service support aligned to individual process requirements.
- Integrated solution concept: GEA combines process engineering, MVR technology, digital support options, and lifecycle service into a coordinated solution concept tailored to the customer’s process.
Why is MVR technology?
Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) is an energy recovery technique used in thermal separation processes such as evaporation, crystallization, and distillation. By compressing process vapor and reusing it as a heating medium, MVR can reduce the need for external heating energy and help lower operating costs, depending on the process conditions and plant design.
