From Fermentation to Freeze Drying
The biosynthetic production of human insulin is done using bacteria or yeast cells. Following fermentation, or the conversion of chemical raw materials by micro-organisms, the biomass is extracted using a nozzle separator, washed, concentrated and finally precipitated to produce insulin crystals.
Centrifuges and process lines provided by GEA have an established pedigree in the clarification, separation, classification, concentration and fractionation steps. Nozzle separators also play an important part in the production process. Further, GEA chamber or self-cleaning separators can be used in the subsequent crystallization stages.
GEA is a single-source supplier of a variety of fermenters, media preparation, buffer storage, harvesting and cell rupture solutions, equipment for the purification and isolation of cells, separation (after both first and final crystallization), the production and distribution of WFI, CIP and freeze drying technologies, all of which can be installed and integrated into a state-of-the-art insulin production facility.

Bloc de compression pour homogénéisateur
Les têtes de compression de GEA constituent le cœur des homogénéisateurs, car elles activent le processus d'homogénéisation en pompant le produit à haute pression jusqu'à ce qu'il s'écoule dans la vanne d'homogénéisation.
Bol séparateur à chambre
Les centrifugeuses à chambre sont utilisées pour les liquides de polissage de l'industrie chimique et pharmaceutique, en particulier lorsque qu'il s'agit de récupérer les liquides clarifiés, mais aussi les solides, et que ces derniers doivent former des produits secs.
Clarificateur
Le séparateur centrifuge de clarification est utilisé pour séparer les solides contenus dans un liquide. Le séparateur est équipé d'une colonne de disques coniques qui créent une grande zone de clarification équivalente dans une chambre de taille relativement petite.
Dispositifs d'analyse, de régulation en ligne et de mesure
Associer la surveillance du procédé grâce à des analyseurs en ligne aux principes d'ingénierie de procédé et aux techniques avancées de modélisation du procédé permet de contrôler activement le procédé et de pouvoir compenser les variations de l'alimentation.
