
The Hardware Test Engineer is responsible for verification and validation of electronic and electro-mechanical products used in digital agriculture solutions. The role supports the complete product lifecycle from development and system integration to product release and maintenance ensuring hardware solutions meet reliability, robustness, and quality standards. The position works closely with electronics, firmware, and software teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and continuous improvement of testing processes.
Your tasks
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans, validation procedures, and acceptance criteria for electronic devices, modules, motors, and complete systems.
Design and establish automated test benches and lab automation systems, including development of test software for data acquisition and measurement control.
Plan and execute functional, environmental, and reliability testing activities, document and track results in a structured manner.
Perform failure analysis and hardware debugging using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal imaging, and power analysis equipment, and drive corrective actions.
Define appropriate test coverage strategies, pass/fail criteria, and validation methodologies for both prototype and serial production products.
Prepare and maintain detailed test documentation including test plans, test cases, reports, and measurement protocols, ensuring full traceability of records.
Integrate hardware validation activities with firmware and software testing to ensure complete system-level verification.
Maintain, calibrate, and manage laboratory test equipment and infrastructure, including coordination with external test service providers when required.
Analyze test data, generate KPIs, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing strategies, processes, and overall product quality.
Provide troubleshooting support and technical assistance to quality, service, and project teams during development and post-release phases.
Participate in project reviews and cross-functional meetings, offering feedback to improve product testability, reliability, and design robustness.
Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical qualification.
Proven experience in hardware testing, product validation, and automated test system development for electronic products.
Hands-on expertise with laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python, LabVIEW, Robot Framework, or comparable tools and data acquisition systems.
Knowledge of environmental, durability, and reliability testing methodologies.
Strong knowledge of electronic components, schematics, and component-level debugging.
Experience in preparing structured test documentation and maintaining calibration records for test equipment.
Familiarity with applicable standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., CE, EMC, ISO standards).
Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving capability and attention to documentation quality.
Self-motivated and proactive working approach with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Willingness to travel for business purposes, including international assignments when required.
Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments and MS Office; experience with SAP/PLM systems advantageous.
