I still remember one moment that sums up why I love my job: A service colleague called me after using our customer portal for the first time with a client. He said, “This actually made our day easier.”
That’s exactly what excites me most about working as a Product Owner: I get to build digital solutions that actually make a difference in the daily work of our customers and colleagues. Whether it’s a service team having the right information available exactly when they need it, or a customer who can track their machine performance directly in the portal; I translate real-life challenges into practical solutions. At the same time, GEA’s purpose, “Engineering for a better world,” gives my work a deeper meaning. When digital solutions help reduce energy consumption or avoid unnecessary service visits, I can personally contribute to making operations more sustainable and the world a little bit better.
At the same time, working for GEA Digital means that new ideas don’t need to be perfect, they just need a starting point. I’ve often seen how a simple thought shared in a workshop or a quick discussion can evolve into something tangible, because people are open to challenge, build on it, and actually try it out. This mindset of testing early and learning fast really drives innovation. We also benefit from the scale and expertise of a large company, but at the same time we’re encouraged to take ownership, move fast, and experiment. This very hands-on, entrepreneurial way of working, in combination with the strong global digital network makes collaboration within GEA Digital special to me.
