High speed packaging system designed for short-cut pasta and dry granular food.

With 600 mm max film width, its flexibility allows the realization of many types of bags and it permits the advantageous combination between high speed and quality of the packaging, especially while working with flat bottom and flat bottom with 4-side seals bags formats.
The GEA V-Packer LM is equipped with a double motion sealing jaw which combines in just a single action both a horizontal and a vertical movement (linear motion), assuring high speed and a better packaging quality. The vertical sealing can be done with hot air blast or rotating band heat sealer or with a hot bar seam sealer. Electrical control of the SVML Series is managed through motion control integrated in the PLC and the main machine movements are driven by independent brushless motors.
• Packaging speed: up to 120 bags per minute (pillow bags when combined with GEA M-Weigher H20);
• Packaging speed: up to 100 bags per minute (flat bottom bags).

In order to satisfy the latest requests coming from the market, GEA designed an evolution of the GEA V-Packer LM packaging machine to work at high speed either with small bags and with catering bags: the resulting GEA V-Packer LM-K model has a max. film width of 800 mm and it packs up to 5kg with small-medium products.
The SVML-XL can be equipped with an interchangeable high-speed hot bar sealing jaw and a heat impulse sealing jaw: the machine can switch from one to the other, according to the type of film that it is being used, maintaining the efficiency in terms of high speed and quality.

GEA V-Packer LM-K Machine Performance (referred to 500 g and 5 kg bags of tubetti n.102 Pavan Dies and Moulds Division Catalogue - 400 g/l):

The group is composed of the vertical packaging machine mod. GEA V-Packer LM (600 mm max film width) combined with the DFQ Carousel made of motor-driven stations where the brick bags are produced. According to the size of the bags, the carousel is equipped with interchangeable paddles that help the handling of the bag during the passage through the stations.
Depending on the needs, the brick bags can be closed with adhesive tape, with label but also with both (alternatively).
The packaging machine can be equipped with a bypass conveying system which is located at the bottom of the machine body and which allows to make alternatively pillow bags. The change from the pillow to the double square bottom phase is set simply recalling the receipt from the touchscreen panel.
The machine parameters are managed electronically thanks to the operator interface touchscreen type color panel for memorization, control and self-diagnostic of the operation parameters and to help the operator identify easily the eventual machine stop causes.

GEA’s past fiscal year was one of significant growth and further profitability gains. In particular, the technology group substantially increased order intake, with all divisions contributing here. GEA also made progress in all Mission 30 strategic growth areas. In addition, GEA met key interim targets under its climate plan ahead of schedule. Major milestones in fiscal year 2025 were admission to the DAX index, the award of one of the largest contracts in the company’s history, and streamlining of the corporate structure.
Thanks to a new SmartParc manufacturing site, food processors in the U.K. are cutting their running costs and emissions. With GEA heating and cooling technology at its core, this collaborative production model demonstrates how innovation is accelerating the industry’s net-zero ambitions.
