Overview
A perfectly formed lollipop with an excellent taste and mouth feel are the ingredients to success. These Benefits are within reach when forming with a GEA Aquarius FlexFormer. Whatever shape you would like to make, whether ball, flat or three-dimensional, GEA Aquarius has with the
FlexFormer range the right machine for the job. Configured to appeal to young companies and smaller operations we developed our mid range capacity forming machine the FlexFormer Start Up.
Working principle
The Flexformer machine has a sugar rope detection system which ensures that when no sugar is entering the format set no stick is feeded towards the die set. The solid or center filled ball lollipops or fancy or 3D lollipops are formed in the format set. The format set and forming machine are designed to enable a very flexible, quick changeover between sizes or shapes. With an easy exchange set you will be able to change from size or shape within 1 hour.
Performance
Very flexible, quick changeover between sizes or shapes of lollipops are possible as well as easy adjustment for different stick lenghts. The GEA FlexFormer has less down time thanks to the auto lubrication system and an extensive machine damage protection package is included. With the clean in place unit the down time of the machine due to cleaning will be kept to a minimum of approximately 20 up to 30 minutes when cleaning the die set (included in the option package). Given the high operating speeds, we have gone to great lengths to ensure that the mechanical parts are all well protected. The closed machine housing minimizes maintenance needs and downtime.
Output quality
Our Aquarius forming machines are known for the highest quality ball and 3 D lollipop shapes to ensure after forming this high quality lollipop. The lollipops are transported directly towards the PopCooler B SC to ensure that the perfectly formed lollipop will have no deformation or loose any design detail.
Flexibility
You will be able to switch between ball and 3D lollipops, with or without center filling, in less than one hour. Next to the GEA Aquarius FlexFormer, we offer other lollipop forming machines, matching cooling solutions and a wide range of wrapping options such as SandwichWrap, BunchWrap or TwistWrap for all these type of lollipops, allowing it to make unique line concepts.

While the sector worked through a difficult funding environment, approvals were still granted, pilot lines set up and new platforms tested in the background. In short: headlines are turning into infrastructure. Frederieke Reiners heads GEA’s New Food business. She and her team work at the intersection of biotechnology and industrial food production. In this interview, she takes us on a world tour of food biotech in seven questions.
