Decanter Centrifuge for biosolids dewatering and thickening
The GEA biosolids Decanter is a continuously operating centrifuge with a horizontal solid-wall bowl, specifically designed for (pre)dewatering and thickening of municipal sludge.
As one of our most resource-efficient solutions, our GEA biosolids Decanter carries the Add Better label.

Optimal, economical dewatering of sewage sludge is a key step in all disposal methods, including incineration, landfilling, and agricultural land application.
In practice, having less sludge to dispose of saves transportation costs and reduces energy consumption for drying and incineration, thereby reducing CO2 emissions.
The GEA biosolids Decanter ensures a high level of dewatering with significantly reduced sludge volumes, e.g. through high g-force for optimum separation and process-optimized torque control.

GEA EnergyJets
Discharging clarified liquids in decanter centrifuges requires substantial energy. GEA EnergyJets offer a smart, energy-saving solution to optimize this process.
By combining weir plates with advanced flow deflection technology, EnergyJets can reduce energy consumption by up to 25%, depending on the hydraulic flow rate.
As part of GEA’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, EnergyJets are now a standard feature in the GEA biosolids Decanter series. Designed to handle high liquid loads, these decanters recover valuable energy that would otherwise be lost, improving overall efficiency and lowering operational costs.

GEA biosolids Decanter
As one of our most resource-efficient solutions, our GEA biosolids Decanter series carries the Add Better label.*
Depending on the machine size, the GEA biosolids Decanter pro series offers energy savings of 15 to 60 percent, while the prime series achieves savings of 22 to 53 percent.
The Add Better label is validated by TÜV Rheinland and based on a calculation and documentation process that meets ISO 14021.
*The Add Better label relates to the serial product GEA biosolids Decanter pro (released between 2018 and 2022) and GEA biosolids Decanter prime (released in 2018). The comparison refers to the predecessor models.

Automated milking has become the first choice for many modern dairy farms. The benefits are compelling, and with a new batch milking solution from GEA, automated group milking for large dairy herds is possible without the need – and expense – of rebuilding existing facilities.
GEA has once again earned the highest rating – Platinum – in the globally recognized EcoVadis sustainability assessment. With a score of 92 out of 100, the machinery and plant manufacturer has improved significantly from last year’s result of 82 points. For the second year in a row, GEA ranks among the top one percent of more than 150,000 rated companies across 185 countries.
At Carlsberg’s Fredericia brewery, GEA VARIVENT valves are part of a long-game strategy. By reusing core valve bodies, retrofitting actuators and control tops, and planning maintenance around brewing seasons, Carlsberg extends asset life, reduces downtime and supports its ambitious water and sustainability targets.
