Personal Care

Oral Care

The oral care sector comprises products such as toothpastes and mouthwashes that are designed to improve oral hygiene and deliver dental care. As consumers seek the effects of good oral hygiene, manufacturers are responding to demands with a range of formulation innovations.

Key to the production of oral care products are GEA’s standard and customizable mixing and blending technologies, liquid handling flow components — pumps, valves and product recovery systems — and clean-in-place (CIP) solutions. Every component of a GEA personal care processing line is designed to meet the strictest hygiene standards, ensuring safe operation and reliable product quality.

GEA has developed a continuous inline blending unit, specifically for toothpaste, that can effectively mix — within permissible deviation limits — the base material, coloring and flavoring.

Hygienic design is at the very core of GEA’s engineering concept. It is taken into account early in the design phase of every project and carefully followed through the project’s execution and installation. In addition, every component of a GEA HPC processing line is designed to meet the strictest hygiene standards, ensuring safe operation and reliable product quality. Our expertise includes:

  • reception and storage of raw materials
  • distribution and dosing of raw materials
  • mixing technology with buffer tanks
  • homogenization systems
  • product storage in bulk tanks
  • transfer lines to tanks and filling lines
  • distribution of utilities such as water, air and steam
  • clean-in-place (CIP) systems, automation and process control
