
The IIoT Software Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and securing Industrial IoT software components, including Azure IoT Edge modules and cloud services. The role focuses on building reliable, secure, and scalable IIoT solutions that enable device connectivity, data processing, and integration between industrial equipment and cloud platforms.
Your tasks Maintain and enhance existing Azure IoT Edge modules, including performance improvements and bug fixes.
Implement, test, and deploy new features for deployed IoT Edge solutions.
Develop new IoT Edge modules and cloud components in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Ensure robust integration between edge modules and cloud infrastructure.
Design and implement communication between edge devices and cloud services using Azure technologies.
Support deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of IoT Edge modules.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of IIoT software components.
Apply secure coding practices and address security vulnerabilities proactively.
Ensure compliance with industrial cybersecurity standards, including IEC 62443.
Support security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities.
Implement and maintain support for industrial communication protocols such as OPC-UA, MQTT, and Modbus TCP.
Ensure reliable and secure data exchange between industrial devices, edge modules, and cloud services.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing.
Document technical designs, architecture decisions, and implementation details.
Support continuous improvement, refactoring, and technical debt reduction.
Collaborate closely with device management, service, cybersecurity, and platform teams.
Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of IIoT software issues.
Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field
Proven experience in IIoT solution development and maintenance.
Hands-on experience with Azure IoT Edge, Azure Functions, and related Azure services.
Experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments is a strong advantage.
Strong expertise in .NET / C# development.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP).
Solid understanding of cloud-native and edge computing architectures.
Knowledge of secure coding practices and industrial cybersecurity standards (e.g., IEC 62443).
Experience handling security vulnerabilities and applying remediation measures.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and international teams.
