The intelligent 4-way milking cluster
The IQ is known for its 4-way technology, designed with an eye to the natural structure of a cow’s udder. The milk flows separately and quickly from each udder quarter directly to the outlet. This way you can milk your high-yield cows more efficiently and at the same time prevent the risk of teat-to-teat cross contamination with mastitis-causing bacteria.
What are the key facts of GEA´s IQ-milking cluster?
- 4 – Way technology for maximum hygiene: Each udder quarter is milked into four separate chambers preventing teat-to-teat cross-contamination and reducing the risk of mastitis.
- Automatic vacuum shut-off: Full vacuum is only applied when the teat cup is attached, preventing air leaks and contamination. Stainless steel balls reliably shut off vacuum when not in use, eliminating the need to kink tubes.
- Stable and gentle milking process: Improved teat-end vacuum stability ensures cow comfort and efficient milk-out, even at high flow rates. The cluster´s optimal weight distribution and center of gravity keep it securely in place on the udder.
- Ergonomic & lightweight design: The narrow geometry and internal pulse tubes make attachment easy and comfortable for all udder shapes. Lightweight construction reduces strain for milking staff and supports fast, efficient routines.
- Easy handling: Simple to attach and detach – whether one teat cup at a time or all at once.
