GEA slicers arrange sliced products in a variety of visually appealing, space-saving and consumer-friendly ways.

The way sliced products are presented and packaged have visual and functional characteristics. For example, presentations like shingles allow consumers to see more of what they are buying. Shingled products can be arranged in various configurations, such as circular, oval and linear. Interleaved products have a paper sheet between each slice to make it easier to take one slice from the stack, and this is particularly useful with very thin slices or products that tend to stick together.

The GEA UniSlicer stands for enormous flexibility in two ways: in slicing both a wide variety of products and portion patterns.

Thanks to manual product loading, it is possible to change from one product to another within a short time by means of grippers and changing the program. The portion pattern is stored in every program. The compact design makes it easy to integrate the GEA UniSlicer into existing production systems. According to need, the machine can be designed for operation on one side or the other. A hygienic design and good accessibility for wet cleaning are taken for granted.

Product is loaded manually into the slicer. On the product bed, the product is gripped by the product gripper, and transported to the slicing area. The circular blade technology leads to constant slice thickness and high portion quality. Servodriven feeding of product enables precise regulation of slice thickness for economical production with minimum waste of trim cuts and end pieces.

Product is sliced by either circular or involute blade, depends on the machine configuration. On the portioning conveyor many different portion forms can be built and are reliable reproducable. With the idle cut rotor sliver slices can be avoided almost up to 100%.

Output quality

High portion quality with constant slice thickness. Different portion forms possible: shingle, stack, zig-zag stack, shaved, contour shingle, folded, chunks and interleaved portions. Shear edges in different materials (plastic or stainless steel) and different forms (L-Form, semi-mouthpiece or full mouthpiece) contribute to a high slicing quality. The optional top and bottom traction system increases product control during slicing process and serves to get slices with constant thickness.
