The Associate Refrigeration Skid Design is responsible for the mechanical design, layout, and engineering of refrigeration compressor skids and packaged systems. The role involves end‑to‑end skid design including pressure vessels, oil management, piping, structural frames, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring compliance with technical standards, customer requirements, and manufacturability.
Your tasks
Design and develop refrigeration compressor skids including layout, structural frames, piping routing, and equipment arrangement.
Conduct sizing of required pressure vessels and heat exchangers in refrigeration system (e.g., oil separator, oil cooler, condenser, evaporator).
Execute mechanical and thermal design of above vessels and heat exchangers as required.
Execute mechanical and strength design of structures and base frame.
Perform engineering calculations related to skid loads, support design, center of gravity, and transportation restraints.
Work on refrigeration systems using compressors operating with various refrigerants.
Understand compressor operating limits, lubrication systems, vibration concerns, and package interfaces.
Apply relevant codes and standards such as API, ASME, ISO, PED, and refrigeration piping standards (B31.5/B31.3).
Support compressor and auxiliary equipment selection in coordination with process and application teams.
Prepare 2D & 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for skids and packaged systems.
Ensure designs comply with customer technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate closely with multi‑disciplinary and cross‑functional teams
Interact with sales teams to understand market needs, customer expectations, and commercial constraints, and convert them into technically feasible designs.
Support technical discussions during pre‑order and execution phases when required.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical audits.
Review vendor drawings, provide technical clarifications, and resolve site/shop‑floor issues.
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in skid/package design for refrigeration or compressor-based systems.
Hands‑on experience with compression technology in industrial or commercial refrigeration applications.
Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor and Creo.
Strong understanding of:
Refrigeration cycles and compressor packages
Refrigerants such as NH₃, CO₂, HFCs, HFOs, or hydrocarbons.
Skid-based system layout and piping design
Manufacturing processes and tolerancing
Working knowledge of BOM creation, GA drawings, and fabrication documentation.
Experience using analysis tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or equivalent for structural analysis of skids and frames.
Familiarity with DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles.
Self‑driven, self‑learning, and highly motivated individual with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and requirements.
Quick learner with strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and multi‑disciplinary teams.
We Offer
A dynamic role in an international, technology-driven organization.
