GEA Screw Compressor Service Portfolio
When a GEA screw compressor is due a major service, or is underperforming, we have a variety of service options within the GEA Screw Compressor Service portfolio to meet any customers expectations. Designed to proactively help our customers identify the solution(s) which fits their needs best.
Helping customers proactively plan major service to satisfy any business needs.
¹ Energy Savings based on combination of factors; including improved compressor COP when retrofitting from former series, ≤10% reduction in old compressor COP due to ‘wear factor’ at ~10 years / ~50,000 run hours, and where GEA Omni is fitted additional energy savings ≤5% using the standard optimization features (further savings possible if GEA Omni is combined with GEA InsightPartner® Blu-Red Care and GEA OptiPartner® Blu-Red Energy products).
GEA Service Kits for Screw Compressors: GEA Service Kits are created for routine maintenance, encompassing all the necessary GEA original spare parts required for specific activities. Just provide us with your machine details, and we supply you with the kit. This is an ideal service solution for any service provider with the ability / facility to perform complete compressor disassembly / rebuild, and for customers who prefer a local cost effective solution where improved reliability is the main driver.
GEA Service Centers: A global GEA Service Center is never far away. Strategically located globally to provide local compressor and equipment overhaul services for fast turnaround all by highly skilled GEA specialists. Ideal for customers who can accept a short period of downtime / unavailability, knowing the work is carried out locally, with reliability being important.
GEA Berlin Center of Excellence: Offering the optimum level of compressor rebuild services inclusive of performance testing and warranty. Send your compressor to the home of the GEA Screw compressor and have the peace of mind knowing it can be returned as good as new, or exchanged if found to be unrepairable. Perfect for customers where downtime / unavailability is not a concern and performance improvement is expected in addition to improved reliability.
GEA Screw Compressor Exchange: replacing your existing compressor for new, even when it is like for like technology offers many benefits. For many customers downtime or unavailability time when a compressor has to be removed for a major service can be a defining factor in deciding which service options fits their needs best. With direct service exchange a compressor can be swapped over in as little as 1 day, and if the existing compressor is aged / worn then it is possible to benefit from energy savings up to 10% or more. This upgrade solution is attractive to customers who need downtime / unavailability to be kept to an absolute minimum, and in turn benefit from an improvement in both reliability and very likely energy efficiency.
GEA Screw Compressor Retrofit: if your existing GEA screw compressor is of the former design, i.e. the SH or MC Series then you can also consider retrofitting to the latest compressor technology, the GEA M Series screw compressor. Compared to like for like exchange where any energy savings are a result of wear to the existing compressor, the M Series is up to 7%* more efficient than its predecessor so energy savings on a theoretical basis are guaranteed, and if combined with wear as much as 25% energy savings can be achieved. Where exchange requires no modifications, the retrofit solution requires some minor pipework alterations to accommodate the new design compressor into the existing package. The changes required are easy to plan and execute with the supporting GEA materials available for all customers, including a comprehensive service guideline. From customers experience of retrofitting, it is possible to retrofit a compressor in as little as 2 days, and only 3 days when a GEA Omni control panel is installed. Like service exchange, the retrofit solution is a good match to customers who must have very low down time / unavailability and especially those who see the benefits of a little more investment paying back well due to the guaranteed energy savings.

GEA Screw Compressor Retrofit / Exchange with GEA Omni: further enhance your major screw compressor service with the industry leading control panel the GEA Omni and benefit from the many standard in built apps and tools, designed to maximize compressor performance and reliability. When GEA Omni is installed, you are ‘digital ready’ meaning you have the choice to add the newly launched digital products GEA InsightPartner BluRed Care and GEA OptiPartner BluRed Energy. BluRed Care is a web application that enables proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of heating and cooling systems, minimizing cost-intensive downtime and unexpected outages. BluRed Energy is focussed on continuous plant optimization and the reduction of CO₂ footprint. When GEA Omni is installed alongside service exchange or retrofit compressor options, some customers can gain up to 5% additional energy savings if the standard optimization features are set up.
GEA Screw Compressor Package: although it may only be the compressor which is due a major service, replacing your existing compressor package for new package may be an option which suits some customers, especially if the general condition of the package is questionable and the investment in the compressor alone may not seem like the best long term investment. Whatever the reasoning, if a new package is a consideration we have many alternative package design options available which can offer very good ROI.
