
As an Electrical Engineer, you will join a dynamic, multicultural engineering team and contribute to the successful execution of international projects, covering all phases from contract signing to final completion. Your main responsibilities will include:
Designing and implementing electrical and automation solutions for international projects (2–8 projects per year) in close coordination with the Project Manager and other Project Engineers.
Performing worldwide travel and commissioning activities, up to 45% of annual working time.
Ensuring full compliance of electrical and automation engineering with customer specifications, GEA standards, local regulations, and any applicable electrical and automation norms.
Preparing, maintaining, and updating engineering documentation in accordance with internal procedures, quality standards, and project requirements.
Coordinating tendering and procurement processes for electrical cabinets manufacturing and for site electrical installations.
Supervising electrical panels assembly and leading Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
Supervising on-site electrical installation activities, including coordination and management of external subcontractors and site resources.
Performing equipment IO tests, including electrical measurements, functional checks, troubleshooting, and commissioning support.
Providing regular and structured progress reports on electrical engineering and site activities to Project Leaders and Project Managers.
Continuously assessing and promoting safe working conditions during installation, commissioning, and site activities, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory safety requirements as well as Company safety policies and procedures.
Acting as the technical interface with external suppliers, ensuring correct material selection, procurement, and technical alignment.
Supporting the preparation of technical offers in close collaboration with Sales and Business Development teams.
Taking operational technical decisions within the project scope and actively sharing knowledge and best practices across teams.
Identifying and implementing innovation opportunities, as well as new tools, solutions, or products within the electrical and automation domains.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation, Telecommunications, or a related field. A master’s degree is considered an asset.
Solid background in electrical engineering, with a good understanding of automation and control systems. Mechanical engineering and pneumatic know-how is a plus.
Proven experience in industrial engineering projects, including electrical design, installation supervision, and commissioning.
Proficiency in electrical design and calculation software, such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, SEE Electrical, Caneco, or equivalent tools.
Solid knowledge of electrical and automation regulations, including European directives and IEC standards, as well as American standards (UL). Experience applying UL 508A for industrial control panels is considered a strong differentiator.
Experience with functional safety concepts, including SIL (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511) and PL (ISO 13849), applied to industrial automation and electrical systems.
Familiarity with explosive atmospheres (ATEX), including equipment selection, zoning, and compliance with applicable directives and standards.
Knowledge of PLC and HMI platforms (Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell, or equivalent).
Good computer literacy (Internet, Microsoft Office).
Hygienic design principles know-how and QHSE standards. Experience in regulated industries (food, pharma, etc.) is a plus.
Experience working with international suppliers and subcontractors.
Strong awareness of industrial safety regulations and best practices on construction and commissioning sites.
Structured, autonomous, and proactive working style, with a cross-functional and multidisciplinary mindset.
Ethics, compliance, commitment, and professionalism.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Spanish (native) and high level of English (B2/C1) required; additional languages (French, German, Portuguese) are a plus.
Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally on a regular basis.
