As a Herd Management & After-Sales Specialist at GEA Farm Technologies Ireland, you will play a pivotal role in supporting dairy farmers and dealer partners to optimise herd performance through advanced farm technologies, data-driven insights, and expert advisory services. You will be a recognised expert in herd management software and automated dairy systems, supporting farmers, service teams, and commercial colleagues. Working closely with the wider GEA network, you will help develop training materials, advisory methodologies, and validated propositions that enhance farm performance and customer satisfaction. This is a highly autonomous role offering freedom under responsibility, where you will largely plan and execute your own work while directly contributing to GEA’s strategic objectives in Ireland. (This is a National role with regular travel)
Farm Management & Advisory Support
Provide professional herd management and performance advice to dairy farmers using GEA farm technologies.
Analyse and interpret farm data (production, health, feeding, activity, reproduction) to identify opportunities for improvement that align with GEA’s suite of technological solutions.
Support farmers in optimising daily work routines, system settings, and herd management strategies.
Translate data from multiple sources into clear, practical recommendations for farmers and advisors.
After-Sales & Technical Support
Deliver third-line support to service teams and customers to ensure continuity and drive continuous improvement.
Respond to customer requests via phone, email, online platforms, and on-site visits.
Support major product rollouts and new technology introductions.
Assist in resolving customer complaints and ensuring high service standards.
Training & Knowledge Development
Develop training programs, manuals, digital materials, and advisory tools. Deliver training to customers, colleagues, and dealer partners (on-site, online, and via webinars).
Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and best-practice workshops.
Support “train-the-trainer” initiatives and certification pathways.
Data Analysis & Innovation
Analyse and visualise digital farm data to support farmers, service and sales teams.
Advise and monitor innovation and validation projects using dairy and technology expertise.
Provide structured feedback from the field to support product development and commercial propositions.
Contribute to the evolution of GEA’s Herd Management Support offering.
Stakeholder & Network Engagement
Inspire customers and external stakeholders to embrace digital farming and automation.
Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, advisors, veterinarians, and industry partners.
Participate in customer events, open days, experience groups, and industry meetings.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, data analysts, service teams, and commercial managers
Working Environment
Independent role with high autonomy and responsibility.

Regular travel required within Ireland, with occasional international travel.
Essential
Degree or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or Livestock Farming.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the dairy industry (advisory, consultancy, or on-farm).
Agricultural sales experience
Strong understanding of dairy farm operations and herd management.
Experience working with farm data, management software, or digital tools.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office and modern digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot).
Full, clean driving licence.
Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
Desirable
Experience with automated and robotic dairy technologies in indoor and grass based systems (milking, feeding, health monitoring).
Knowledge of grazing systems, barn design, and modern dairy infrastructure.
Experience delivering training or coaching.
Sales or commercial exposure within agri-tech or dairy.
An established network within the Irish dairy industry.
