
The Technical Writer is responsible for supporting Design Validation, Testing, and Technical Documentation activities for digital agriculture solutions at the Bangalore location. In this role, you will support GEA Farm Technologies GmbH by creating, maintaining, and improving high-quality technical documentation while working closely with engineering, R&D, and service teams. The position contributes to innovative product development projects and supports the advancement of digitalization by ensuring documentation is accurate, compliant with applicable standards, and user-friendly for service and maintenance personnel.
Your tasks
Develop, publish, and maintain technical documentation such as assembly manuals, operating guides, maintenance manuals, and technical information using documentation systems such as Fischer TIM.
Gather and structure technical information from R&D and Technical Service teams while ensuring alignment with editorial guidelines, legal requirements, standards, and internal documentation frameworks.
Prepare clear and audience-focused technical content tailored for service technicians, maintenance teams, and end users.
Optimize manuals and documentation to improve usability, clarity, and efficiency for operational and maintenance activities.
Coordinate translation activities using established processes to ensure availability of documentation in multiple languages.
Ensure documentation complies with applicable technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
Conduct documentation reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of technical manuals.
Collect feedback from internal stakeholders and users, implement updates, and continuously improve the quality and usability of documentation.
Work closely with engineering teams to review, validate, and finalize technical content during development and validation phases.
Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting standards, and document structures across all technical documentation.
Track project timelines and documentation milestones to ensure timely delivery aligned with development schedules.
Report deviations or documentation risks to the project team and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.
Your profile
Degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, or a related discipline with a focus on technical documentation.
5+ years of professional experience in technical documentation, editorial work, or technical writing roles.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional development teams and working within product development environments.
Familiarity with documentation management systems such as Quanos STM4 or Fischer TIM is an advantage.
Independent and proactive working style with strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
High level of reliability, commitment, and ability to manage multiple documentation tasks effectively.
Very good written and spoken German and English language skills.
