GEA RedAstrum

GEA RedAstrum is the standard ammonia screw compressor heat pump for an increasing demand of efficient heating solutions. Featuring high-end components and a sophisticated, compact design the series stands out for a wide capacity and temperature range.

GEA RedAstrum revised: the second generation of screw compressor heat pumps offers an optimized design, a new NH3 cascade evaporator option and an extended model range. The series is now available in seven screw compressor types based on the successful GEA Grasso M and GEA Grasso LT series in a specific high-pressure design.

Aligned to the successful GEA BluAstrum concept and equipped with heat exchangers configured and optimized according to the project-individual requirements, the GEA RedAstrum combines the benefits of reliability, low ammonia charges, and minimum footprint with flexibility and efficiency for various heating purposes.

The GEA RedAstrum transfers heat to a liquid heat carrier providing supply temperatures between 55 and 80 °C which can be utilized in any industrial application where process heat is needed or fed into a local or district heating network.

Thanks to a broad temperature range at the low temperature (heat source) side possible between -10 and +50 °C, the GEA RedAstrum is able to utilize any heat source from ground and surface water, ambient heat sources, to condensation heat from refrigeration plants and waste heat from industrial processes or consumers.

The GEA RedAstrum is available with evaporators charged with a liquid coolant or with NH3 cascade evaporators for an efficient “add-on” set-up to a refrigeration system.
