Sampling System VESTA®
The aseptic VESTA® sampling system is based on a modular design concept, making sampling at different locations in the process line possible with outstanding simplicity. Thanks to the system's compact design and freely selectable degree of automation it can adapt with ease to any customer process requirements.
The system enables easy and safe aseptic sampling in 4 steps
- Mount sample valve via a VARINLINE® housing into the product line
- Autoclave and dock glass bottle including inlet valve

Advantages in the process
The sampling system can be used in horizontal as well as in vertical product lines with exactly the same components. The arrangement and the support frame made of stainless steel will be ideally adapted.

When the sampling system is transferred to another location, the VARINLINE® housing used for installation is safely closed with blind flanges.
Metering with new precision: the flow meter IZMAG™
To perfect the sampling process, the electromagnetic flow meter IZMAG™ fulfills metrological requirements at the highest level. It owes the reliability of its measured values to continuous internal calibration. The display can be rotated through 360°, it is illuminated and complies with highest ergonomic requirements. The standard model with its functional design made of stainless steel is bluetooth enabled so it can be expanded using HART or Profibus.
The process steps in detail
1. SIP bottle connection
The pre-autoclaved glass bottle and inlet valve are docked onto the system. Steam is supplied, flows through the closed inlet valve and is drained via the steam trap.
2. Sample taking
Both outlet and the steam inlet valves are set into closed position. In a second step, sample and bottle inlet valve are opened to start the sample taking.
3. Flushing
After sample taking, the product line is flushed with sterile water (condensate). Remaining product and sterile water is drained through the regular outlet valve.
4. Steam/condensate barrier
A continuously applied steam barrier enables optimum process safety at all times. Alternatively, a condensate barrier can be applied instead of an active steam barrier.

Thanks to the hermetic sealing of the valve stem with a PTFE bellows, VESTA® sterile valves provide a maximum level of process line isolation and therewith contribute to customers’ product and process safety.
The VESTA® valve series is specifically designed to meet the highest requirements for sterile processes in the pharmaceutical, biotech and cosmetics industry. The valve program provides everything that is required to ideally serve these industries. The high-quality valve range consists of different valve types, and thanks to the modular build-up, the valves can also be tailor-made for specific process conditions and still meet all requirements from a regulatory point of view.
VESTA® valves can be seamlessly integrated into an automated process plant by using the T.VIS® control tops.
PTFE bellows as key element
VESTA® - PTFE bellows
Key element of VESTA® sterile valves is a single-piece PTFE bellows made of the material TFM 1705. Adding to its excellent chemical resistance against almost all media, TFM 1705 also complies with all standards relevant for the pharmaceutical industry, such as e.g. FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 and USP class VI. The high-value surface finish (Ra ≤ 0,8 μm), the seamless and hermetic sealing as well as the CIP/SIP optimized design are other characteristic features. The patented bellows sealing system safely separates the product-wetted area from the atmosphere in all process steps and furthermore seals the valve seat.
