Vacuum Technology
Thermocompressors are based on proven jet pump technology and often used to reduce venting of low-pressure steam.
Steam jet compressors are used in evaporating, distillation, cooling, crystallization, deodorization, degassing and drying under vacuum.
In the positive pressure range the compressed exhaust vapors are used for heating (heat pump).
Steam jet compressors use the energy of a vapor flow of a high pressure level and compress a vapor flow of low pressure level to a medium pressure level.
Normally, such steam jet compressors are operated by water steam as motive and suction fluid. Basically, however, steam jet compressors can be operated with any vapor.
A steam jet compressor must be constructed to unite the operating conditions accurately, otherwise the efficiency will be poor or it will not work at all. Even so, for a better understanding of the method of operation of steam jet compression, it is important to consider behavior under varying operating conditions.
In relation to these advantages, the efficiency does not play significant role, compared to other compressors. As a result of it being custom built for a duty, with correct design and application a high operating efficiency can be achieved.

Variable - Flow Ejectors are based on proven GEA jet pump technology and often used for heat recovery.
Steam jet ventilators are based on proven jet pump technology and often used to convey air, gases and vapors.

What if your favorite chocolate didn’t require cocoa beans and your coffee was locally produced? As climate disruption, price hikes and ethical concerns hit two of our most beloved indulgences, scientists are reimagining how we produce them – using microbes, not monocultures. The goal: preserve the flavor and properties of coffee and chocolate while minimizing carbon emissions and improving food resilience.
Ports now compete not just on logistics, but on sustainability. At Greece’s Piraeus port, an advanced processing and recovery facility recycles ship waste oil into fuel. Equipped with GEA’s high-performance centrifuges, it sets a new benchmark for state-of-the-art, environmentally responsible port operations.
The 2022 CO2 shortage forced breweries to review their dependency on global supply chains. Many were forced to close, unable to carbonate their products. At its breweries in Germany, OeTTINGER GETRÄNKE is turning its own CO2 into a powerful lever for independence and sustainability – with the help of CO2 recovery technology from GEA.
