Vacuum Technology
Steam jet heaters are based on proven jet pump technology and often used to heat liquids by direct injection of heating steam.
Steam jet heaters are used to heat liquids by direct injection of heating steam. The heating steam condensate mixes with the liquid being heated.
Steam jet heaters are used to prepare hot water for different purposes, such as barrel rinsing water in malting plants, warm water for pickling, dyeing, and greases in tanneries, for washrooms and bathrooms and for heating sewage sludge, boiling lye etc.
There are generally two different construction forms, according to the application:
Type aw1
Steam jet heaters are used to heat all kinds of liquids in vessels. Heating is achieved by means of direct condensation of steam. The steam condensate mixes with the liquid.
The steam jet emerging from the motive nozzle accelerates the liquid present in its vicinity and in the mixing nozzle and condenses. In this way a controlled flow is produced. Furthermore, the whole content of the vessel is set in motion and the heat transferred to the liquid is evenly distributed throughout the vessel.
The condensation nozzle is inside the steam jet heater. It is provided with bore holes so that the steam can pass directly into the liquid to be heated and condenses. This takes place at the point of highest velocity of the liquid, its lowest pressure and its greatest turbulence. The downstream arranged diffuser reduces the velocity of the liquid again at the same time increasing its pressure.
Steam jet heaters are used to heat liquids by means of direct condensation of steam. The steam condensate mixes with the liquid. Steam jet heaters type “L” are used in passage and circulation heating systems. The achievable heating per pass amounts to max. 90 K.
Steam jet heaters type “H” are used in passage and circulation heating systems:
Steam jet heaters are used to directly heat a liquid with heating steam. Steam jet heaters, “System Ciba-Geigy”, are used in passage and circulating heating systems and for batch processes.
Variable - Flow Ejectors are based on proven GEA jet pump technology and often used for heat recovery.
Steam jet ventilators are based on proven jet pump technology and often used to convey air, gases and vapors.
With state-of-the-art pilot plants and test benches our R & D Center is optimally equipped for testing in the fields of jet pumps and vacuum systems.
Gas jet ventilator type gv1 are based on proven jet pump technology and often used to draw off vapors from working areas, to ventilate tanks, circulate air etc.
What if your favorite chocolate didn’t require cocoa beans and your coffee was locally produced? As climate disruption, price hikes and ethical concerns hit two of our most beloved indulgences, scientists are reimagining how we produce them – using microbes, not monocultures. The goal: preserve the flavor and properties of coffee and chocolate while minimizing carbon emissions and improving food resilience.
Ports now compete not just on logistics, but on sustainability. At Greece’s Piraeus port, an advanced processing and recovery facility recycles ship waste oil into fuel. Equipped with GEA’s high-performance centrifuges, it sets a new benchmark for state-of-the-art, environmentally responsible port operations.
The 2022 CO2 shortage forced breweries to review their dependency on global supply chains. Many were forced to close, unable to carbonate their products. At its breweries in Germany, OeTTINGER GETRÄNKE is turning its own CO2 into a powerful lever for independence and sustainability – with the help of CO2 recovery technology from GEA.
