The missing link between mixing and forming
GEA Batch2Flow is a unique technology that bridges the gap between mixing and forming. This innovative system automatically transports a mix from the mixer to the former, transforming a batch process into an in-line process. With Batch2Flow, meat, poultry and plant-based mixtures always reach the former in optimal condition.
Preparation is key when making formed products. A consistent mix of ingredients is essential, and the temperature and viscosity of the mix must be just right. GEA Batch2Flow keeps the dough perfectly and safely within the mixer until the former needs it. The mixture is then moved in small portions seamlessly and rapidly along a conveyor system straight into the former. No trolleys or cooled storage rooms are needed. The mixer controls portions as it loads the mix onto the conveyor, ensuring that temperature and viscosity are kept at optimal levels. This results in more accurate forming, reduced waste, and minimized downtime.
Main applications include formable meat, poultry and plant-based mixtures.
Safeguard quality of mix
Less labor and improved hygiene
Save space, energy and cleaning costs
GEA Batch2Flow ingeniously moves your mixed product from the mixer to the former, maintaining the product's temperature and viscosity while preventing contamination. The system keeps the mix perfectly and safely within the mixer until needed. Batch2Flow allows the mix to be discharged gently onto a belt conveyor in controlled portions, using the mixer’s rotating wings. As a result, the mix reaches the former at precisely the right temperature and viscosity. Customized discharge gates and specialized machine and line software ensure seamless operation.
A true multi-tasker, the versatile, user-friendly GEA CutMaster Gen3 bowl cutter cuts, mixes and emulsifies a wide range of food products. Now you can quickly switch between ingredients and product types, from coarse chopping to very fine emulsions.
The way the ingredients are mixed defines the success of the final food product. Get it wrong, and productivity and quality will suffer. Fortunately, GEA ProMix twin-shaft mixer, is here to help. It combines robust design with precision and flexibility, to help you get the mix right. Every time again and again.

Companies like GEA process and store large amounts of sensitive data. However, security incidents, from ransomware attacks to physical intrusions and industrial espionage, are ever-expanding. GEA’s effective protection of its business partners’ data – as well as its own proprietary information – is evolving into a competitive advantage. We spoke with Iskro Mollov, GEA’s Chief Information Security Officer, about what it takes to protect a global business in a volatile world.
Resource-efficient fashion has been a long-sought ambition amid the fashion industry’s considerable contributions to global carbon emissions. The need to close the loop by recycling textile fibers into virgin-like materials is higher than ever but seemed like a distant dream until now: Circ, GEA’s American customer and pioneer in the field of textile recycling, might be rewriting the future of the fashion industry.
Alternative proteins are promising – yet still expensive to produce. The usual response is that scaling up will solve this issue. But what if the solution was really about getting better, not just bigger? From more efficient, high-yield processes to upcycling waste heat, engineers are reshaping how we grow food.
