Aseptomag® valve line Leakage Valves Aseptomag® DT

Aseptomag® leakage valves are used for the mixproof shut-off of pipelines at a tank in UltraClean processing plants. The moving valve stems are sealed by a stainless steel bellows.

What distinguishes these valves from truly aseptic mixproof valves, is the leakage chamber between the valve seat seals. Any leakage that occurs at the seals is drained out through the leakage opening in a depressurized manner. This concept reduces the required installation effort as well as process complexity and energy consumption.

Main Components

Housing
Housings for leakage bottom-seat valves are available with one or two port connections. The valves are produced with standard butt-weld connections by default. In addition to the normal bottom-seat version, DT housings are also available with welded or screwed flange connections.

Internal Assembly
The internal assembly in its standard execution is equipped with a hard PTFE seal for the axial, and an EPDM seal for the radial valve seat. In addition to the standard sealing material, also Tefasep® is available for the axial valve seat seal.

Actuator
The pneumatic actuator for the leakage valve DT is designed to be spring-closing/air-opening (NC). In the standard design, this permits the lifting of the bottom valve seat in addition to the full stroke.

Clamp
Due to its solid construction, the GEA Aseptomag clamp enables a pressure stable and safe connection of the main components. The special design with three segments allows a service-friendly handling of the component, even under tight space conditions.

Feedback units
UltraClean leakage valves can be either equipped with open feedback units or T.VIS® feedback systems by default. Feedback units from third party suppliers can be mounted via specially designed adaptors.

Aseptomag® Valve Technology

Aseptomag® aseptic valves are designed to meet the highest demands for aseptic processes in the dairy, food and beverage industry.

Aseptic bellows valves distinguish themselves with the uncompromisingly hermetic seal of the valve stem, thereby minimizing contamination risks and maximizing detection possibilities. The Aseptomag® valve line is the equivalent for aseptic processes to the hygienic VARIVENT® valve line and provides everything from shut-off and bottom-seat to mixproof and sampling valves. The valves meet the highest hygienic standards required, such as EHEDG and 3-A standards. Thanks to the modular structure, the Aseptomag® valve line also allows tailor-made valve solutions for specific process requirements (higher closing pressures, special materials, special design, etc). Aseptomag® valves can be equipped with T.VIS® control tops and can therewith seamlessly be integrated into an automated process plant.

UltraClean Applications

The most relevant product parameter for UltraClean applications is shelf-life. It is mostly determined by the pH-value and the aw-value of the product. In addition, sensory properties need to be considered as well as the logistical chain of distribution. One of the advantages of UltraClean processing is the reduced quantity of preservatives needed for maintaining the shelf-life of the product.

Application examples

  • Brewery industry – Beer and mixed beer beverages (e.g. pure yeast cultivation and connection of sterile tanks and filling machines after sterilization)
  • Beverage industry – Water-based mixed beverages (e.g. soft drinks, fruit juice and fruit-based beverages, concentrates, beverages with pulp)
  • Dairy industry – Milk-based and lactic acid-fermented products (e.g. ESL milk, dessert products, crystallizing products such as lactose)
  • Food and beverage industry – Sauces and delicacies (e.g. manufacture of basic fruit ingredients, incl. particulates such as nuts)
