Powder Container Handling
GEA container handling includes equipment solutions to meet the varied needs of powder packing plants. These components are selected to provide a complete processing line for filled bags through to the finished product store.

Once the container (flexible bag or rigid container) is filled and closed, it is passed to the handling equipment for processing and quality checks before being palletized or transferred to the finished product store.
The downstream equipment can be specified and configured to meet customer requirements or to suit existing packing facilities. A line control MCC is connected to the GEA filling system and provides distributed control for downstream equipment.
This connectivity enables the operator to easily monitor and control any downstream equipment from a single operator interface.
Optional connectivity to the check-weighing and bag coding equipment enable both local and remote monitoring and data analysis using a SCADA system.
Typical container handling equipment that GEA can provide includes:

Semi-automatic powder filling for low production capacity plants. The SmartFil M1 delivers high quality filling of food powders at rates up to 100 bags/hr

The GEA Powder Spool Sampler is a low cost hygienic solution for reliable and remote powder sampling designed specifically for Dairy and Food processors. The simple design provides a robust method for taking fixed volume powder samples at any point in the powder manufacturing process

GEA manufactures a range of sampling systems to suit sanitary applications, we use dynamic sampling. Superior methods of powder sampling are obtained by using procedures where the sample is removed from a moving powder bulk.

GEA powder samplers have been designed to complement the powder filling systems we supply. Our auger sampler can take representative powder samples at the point where the powder enters the bag even when packing in inert atmosphere conditions.

Industrial production is being asked to use fewer resources, become smarter and keep equipment productive for longer. At GEA, that is changing how innovation happens: engineering, customer insight, digital expertise and service come together earlier – when a solution can still be shaped at its core.
