GEA HYGiBulk bulk powder fillers

The GEA HYGiBulk powder filler range provides a flexible FIBC filling solution to meet the needs of bulk powder plants. Customers can tailor their bulk filling system to suit the available space and the preferred operational needs to pack dry free-flowing food, dairy and nutraceutical powders or granulated materials into flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBC), bulk bags and super sacks. The GEA HYGiBulk system can handle low, medium and high throughputs whether packing in a high care area or where there is a requirement to handle the pallets inside the filling area.

GEA HYGiBulk C3 external-sealer

The GEA HYGiBulk range comprises three core models - the C1, C2 and C3. Whilst each solution is designed to meet very different needs, they all share common features that ensure maximum utilization of the bag volume.

Top Weighing
By suspending the bag from its loop straps whilst filling, the bag can be filled without causing creasing thereby allowing the maximum usable volume of the bag. This is a key contributor to stable finished bags. GEA HYGiBulk achieves this using an all-new weighing frame that suspends the bag during filling.

Base Compaction
During filling, the bag is vibrated to settle the powder to provide a solid base on which to stand the bag. This enables the operator to produce a stable compacted bag that can be reliably and safely handled in the warehouse.

Inflatable (Static) Fill Head
With a wide range of bag sizes available to customers, we recognized the need for an adjustable filling solution, whilst ensuring a common operator working height. The GEA HYGiBulk has been designed with a fixed height filling head and operator platform. To handle varying lengths of bags, the HYGiBulk is fitted with an automatic lift system to adjust for bag length. An inflatable filling head provides a dust-tight seal to the bag to prevent nuisance dust from migrating into the filling room.

With options for a separate bag sealing/closing station, Modified atmosphere packing (M.A.P.), powder sampling and automatic conveyor system, many configurations are possible to meet the exacting requirements of our customers.

GEA HYGiBulk C1 bulk system

The GEA HYGiBulk C1 is designed for applications where bags are filled whilst sitting on a pallet. Its compact footprint is ideal for customers needing a manual bulk filling solution where pallets are permitted inside the filling room.

Bags are filled and closed at the filling station and a forklift can then remove the filled bag for storage. The height adjustable compactor base is designed to suit the length of bags to be filled and is configurable within a 600mm range.

Key Features

  • Single Operating Station – Semi- Automatic
  • Bag Suspended during filling
  • Powder feed via optional rotary valve, vibrating conveyor or cross-feed auger
  • Fixed bag hooks
  • Bag Adjustment Range 600mm
  • Weighing during filling
  • Bag base compaction (via pallet)
  • Modified Atmosphere Packing capable

GEA HYGiBulk C2 - Bulk Bag System

GEA HYGiBulk C2 bulk bag system

The GEA HYGiBulk C2 expands on the functionality of the HYGiBulk C1 with the addition of infeed and outfeed powered roller conveyors. This addition enables plant operators to automate the handling of pallets inside the filling room. The height adjustable compaction unit on the HYGiBulk C2 is integrated with the roller conveyor and utilizes a separate lift feature to allow the compactor to be retracted when handling pallets. Powered pivoting bag hooks with automatic bag release, further improve convenience, allowing the operator to work from only one side of the bag.

Key Features

  • Single Operating Station – Semi- Automatic
  • Bag Suspended during filling
  • Powder feed via optional rotary valve, vibrating conveyor or cross-feed auger
  • Powered pivoting bag hooks with auto-release
  • Bag Adjustment Range 600mm
  • Weighing during filling
  • Bag base compaction
  • Feed-through design or single side operation
  • Modified Atmosphere Packing capable
  • Optional Heat Sealer (at head or separate station)

GEA HYGiBulk C3 - Bulk Bag System with HYGiLoad

GEA HYGiBulk bulk powder fillers

The GEA HYGiBulk C3 is designed for applications where no pallets are allowed in the high care filling area. Whilst it comprises many of the features of the HYGiBulk C2, the HYGiBulk C3 features a separate extending bag compaction unit that retracts when not in use.

The optional GEA HYGiLoad can be added to provide automated bag handling/palletizing for a complete high care solution. When coupled with an airlock, the HYGiBulk C3 with HYGiLoad can deliver a high output for safe and hygienic FIBC filling.

Key Features

  • Single Operating Station – Semi- Automatic
  • Bag Suspended during filling
