Agitator upgrade for the mashing process
A simple upgrade from GEA for better mash mixing and higher beer production.
The GEA Agitator 2.0 is a new design of mash agitator for brewers that makes the process quicker and more effective. The new agitator can be fitted as an upgrade to existing equipment and will: reduce burnt deposits on heating surfaces, create a more even heat distribution within the mash, reduce occupation times, create optimum mash mixing and can achieve faster filtration.
The new Agitator 2.0 has been specially designed by GEA to be particularly effective when mixing powder grist, that can otherwise clump and become sticky; and starchy adjuncts, such as rice, maize, starch and cassava, that must be adequately mixed to ensure the effective release of fermentable sugars.
The slow agitator speeds create lower shear forces, reduce oxygen uptake and improve the control of the enzymatic conversion process. The opposing-incline blade design ensures optimum heat convection thereby preventing hot spots on heated surfaces that can cause the build-up of burnt deposits that impede efficiency. Better heat transfer means shorter residence time and more frequent mashes.

GEA Multifunctional Lautering Management is a software developed for the continuous monitoring of the lautering process that initiates interventions to optimize your lautering in real-time. It compensates for variations in raw material quality so the brewmaster doesn’t need to do it manually.

Deep dive into the brewing process with GEA Brewhouse Performance Boost to identify improvement areas and realize savings.

Wort boiling is the process step that uses the most energy in your brewhouse. The standard wort boiling process is related to static parameters – independent from boiling volume and energy consumption. When the parameters for each recipe have been entered, you can no longer make changes, even if the environment affects the process.

GEA InsightPartner Brewery is a GEA digital service that provides a unique insight into your brewery’s performance in productivity, quality and sustainability through intelligent GEA software and GEA consultancy services.
This year was a big one for GEA. Can you remember all the milestones and highlights?
The GEA Foundation launched this year with a promise: to make a tangible difference in people's lives. From scholarships in Germany to clean water in Tanzania, the foundation is already proving that when companies commit to giving back, lives change.
Automated milking has become the first choice for many modern dairy farms. The benefits are compelling, and with a new batch milking solution from GEA, automated group milking for large dairy herds is possible without the need – and expense – of rebuilding existing facilities.
