Energy efficient mashing technology
Optimized design combining technical precision and engineering expertise, MASHSTAR® provides enhanced control for innovative brewers.
Designed for efficiency and advanced control, MASHSTAR® enables brewers to adjust the taste, character and quality of beer for maximum consumer appeal.
MASHSTAR® is equipped with a specially designed agitator with inclined paddles rotating in opposite directions for optimal mixing. Heat zones offer precision control for an even exchange of heat. This configuration provides uniform, gentle heating based on advanced thermodynamics and can be used for both infusion and decoction processes.
The GEA MASHSTAR® mashing system can be adjusted to suit different mashing profiles. By fine tuning extraction and filterability, as well as levels of nitrogen, polyphenol and oxygen, innovative brewers can create a wide range of signature beers.
Versatile – suitable for both infusion mashing and decoction mashing.
Precision control – designed to generate an even exchange of heat, GEA’s agitator and paddle configuration provides homogenous and gentle mixing of mash.
Energy saving – uses continuous low heat and vessel heating technology for energy efficiency.
Product innovation – can be adjusted to suit different mashing profiles for a wide range of beers.
The MASHSTAR® can be heated with satured steam, superheated water, heatpump water, combined heat and power plant water or also with water from the wort kettle or from the wort cooler.

Technical and process functions like temperatures, circumferential speeds, agitator design, vessel wall temperatures, physical and biochemical conversions are all characterizing the mashing process in the brewhouse. The effectiveness and quality of the mashing process will influence significantly the wort quality and the character of the finished...

The GEA brewpub separator skid is a ready-to-go centrifuge package unit to clarify beer, wort and other products in brewpubs and smaller breweries. It is the ideal starter skid designed for the particular needs of microbrewies.

Our MILLSTAR® combines the advantages and benefits of conventional wet and dry milling. This method ensures almost perfect husk conservation and optimal grinding of the endosperm, which provides numerous advantages for your brewing process and your final product beer.

GEA QBOIL® integrates the advanced technologies of fed-batch, fractionated boiling, and rectification into a single, highly efficient process. This innovative system significantly reduces energy consumption during wort boiling, making it an essential addition to any modern brewery focused on energy saving.
GEA’s past fiscal year was one of significant growth and further profitability gains. In particular, the technology group substantially increased order intake, with all divisions contributing here. GEA also made progress in all Mission 30 strategic growth areas. In addition, GEA met key interim targets under its climate plan ahead of schedule. Major milestones in fiscal year 2025 were admission to the DAX index, the award of one of the largest contracts in the company’s history, and streamlining of the corporate structure.
Thanks to a new SmartParc manufacturing site, food processors in the U.K. are cutting their running costs and emissions. With GEA heating and cooling technology at its core, this collaborative production model demonstrates how innovation is accelerating the industry’s net-zero ambitions.
“Brewing eggs is like brewing beer.” It’s the kind of comparison that makes you smile – and then it clicks: Something complex suddenly feels simple. Through this personal film, set in the agricultural heartland of the U.S., we explore precision fermentation and the real-world work it takes to turn an idea into food.
