Sustainable solutions for a world of applications
As Tallinn moves toward climate neutrality, the Estonian energy provider Utilitas and GEA are setting new standards in district heating. Four state-of-the-art GEA heat pumps at its biomass combined heat and power plant are reducing emissions, improving efficiency and operating from various heat sources for cleaner urban heating worldwide.
GEA has supplied integrated cooling and heating systems for the factory of the poultry processing company 2 Sisters Storteboom B.V. in Komorniki, Poland. The aim is to significantly reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, thus protecting the environment and saving costs.

The revolutionary Bunhill 2 Energy Centre – the first of its kind in the world – provides a blueprint for decarbonising heat in potential future schemes in London and around the world, reducing heating bills and carbon emissions while improving air quality and making cities more self-sufficient in energy.
Completed in 2018, the new facility with a minimum availability of 99.98 % (TSI level 3 extended) is the first data center to be awarded a Gold Certificate for sustainability by the Austrian Sustainable Building Council (ÖGNI). While natural cooling with river water plays a key role in the system's eco-sustainability, the required non-stop cooling capacity is ensured by mechanical means – with four GEA BluAstrum ammonia chillers.
