
The Project / Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing engineering projects from conception through to completion, combining project management and production engineering expertise to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. This role acts as the link between client requirements, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Operate within corporate policies and frameworks while contributing to strategic improvements where appropriate.
Act as the primary technical contact for internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor engineering project tasks using the company Task List system.
Carry out Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews to ensure equipment designs are suitable for production.
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within SAP/ERP systems.
Resolve technical, planning and budget issues to ensure projects are delivered smoothly and efficiently.
Liaise with third-party contractors to establish realistic timescales and effective working practices.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to suppliers, workshop technicians and assembly teams.
Ensure process requirements are effectively integrated into automation and control systems.
Lead and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities, including coordinating customer FATs.
Manage individual project tasks and associated resources to maximise efficiency in relation to cost, quality and delivery schedules, while providing regular progress updates to Project Managers.
Work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and projects simultaneously.
Ensure all engineering information and documentation is checked and approved in accordance with company requirements.
Take ownership of allocated tasks, ensuring they are completed efficiently while meeting project cost, schedule and quality objectives.
Collaborate with other GEA sites to achieve operational efficiencies and shared best practice.
Take responsibility for your own professional development by identifying and agreeing training and development needs.
Support change initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Maximise the effective use of all available systems, tools and resources to achieve the highest levels of efficiency, quality and delivery performance.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within all relevant business systems in line with your responsibilities.
Undertake any other duties that are reasonably required and are appropriate to your skills, experience and qualifications.
Achieve personal performance objectives as agreed and documented within the company's performance management process.
Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technological discipline, preferably Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
Proficient in AutoCAD or a similar CAD package (essential).
Knowledge of pharmaceutical process systems and equipment qualification procedures would be advantageous.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and cross-functional teams.
