
With the continued success of GEA Milking Systems, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our Farm Technologies UK team.
This is a varied, field-based role supporting our advanced Automated Milking Systems (AMS) and Dealer Network. The position combines working from home with travel, predominantly across the South of the UK, although UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Support, you will:
Provide technical support to our Dealer Network and customers using GEA AMS robotic milking systems and associated equipment.
Assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of technical training programmes for both the Dealer Network and internal teams
Diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalating to GEA HQ Support where necessary along with accurate and detailed descriptions of the issue
Communicate technical issues and solutions across the UK Technical Team and produce relevant technical bulletins and guidance for GEA and the Dealer Network
Support new AMS projects from pre-installation through to commissioning, ensuring equipment is installed to GEA standards.
Provide ongoing technical support to Dealers and customers following installation.
Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and liaise with relevant teams on installation plans.
Deliver training to AMS customers, enabling them to fully understand the system and maximise its functionality, value, and benefits.
Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting in line with company requirements.
Assess risks and ensure compliance with GEA quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE) standards.
We are looking for a practical, technically minded engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
You will ideally have:
A mechanical and/or electrical engineering background with relevant technical qualifications.
Strong electrical, mechanical and pneumatic knowledge.
Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to work with specialist software systems.
The ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics and interpret diagnostic data.
Good organisational and reporting skills, with the ability to work methodically and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with Dealers, customers and colleagues.
A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A good understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements.
Flexibility to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required.
Experience within agricultural or dairy engineering and an understanding of dairy farming would be advantageous but is not essential.
