About the position
Your responsibilities and tasks
- Define production and process engineering solutions, from initial concept through detailed engineering and project execution.
- Prepare and/or review mass and energy balances, process calculations, and engineering analyses required to support process design.
- Perform the sizing, selection, and technical specification of process equipment and components, including pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, piping, and related accessories.
- Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and provide process engineering input to plant layouts and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Prepare equipment and instrument data sheets, technical specifications, and other engineering documentation required for procurement.
- Develop process and functional descriptions to define process control and automation requirements, including technical support during software Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Contribute to pre-engineering activities, cost estimation, technical evaluations, and project schedule planning to support effective project execution.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Project Management, Procurement & Logistics, Mechanical, Electrical & Automation Engineering, other Process Engineers, suppliers, and global Core Technology Centers (CTCs).
- Support the procurement lifecycle, including technical bid evaluation and equalization, preparation of purchase requisitions in SAP, management of technical deviations from Purchase Orders, and coordination with Logistics regarding material delivery and expediting.
- Lead order and technical clarification meetings, ensuring that engineering solutions comply with customer specifications, contractual requirements, and process design criteria.
- Lead water and product trials, commissioning, start-up, performance verification, and operational support at customer sites.
- Ensure process solutions comply with internal engineering standards, hygienic design principles, and applicable industry and regulatory requirements, including EHEDG and 3-A requirements where applicable.
- Perform process risk assessments, including HAZOP studies, while ensuring compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
- Update as-built process documentation at project completion, ensuring that final engineering documents reflect the installed solution.
- Provide technical training to customers and support the development of other engineers through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and training.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal engineering standards, tools, methods, and procedures.
Your profile and qualifications
- Degree in Food Engineering, Chemistry, or Industrial/Production Engineering
- Specific knowledge of liquid processing in general, brewing process, Beverage, Dairy, Pasteurization and Sterilization, Fermentation, CIP/SIP of equipment and lines, Liquid Dissolving and Mixing, Filtration, Dosing, among others.
- Ability to lead commissioning and start-up
- Communication skills and good interpersonal relationships
- Ability to work in a team
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Good knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project, and SAP
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO, and NR (Brazilian workplace health and safety regulations).
