
The role as Process Specialist is very much a hands-on, entrepreneurial role, where you get the chance to learn and develop unique process expertise in different areas of our equipment (continuous production, batch production, containment, compression, etc.). This expertise will allow you to play a key role in improving customer production processes and/or providing trial results that support sales in winning new businesses. You would spend a large portion of your time in our lab in Wommelgem, but also traveling to customers sites (up to 30% and never longer than 2 weeks).
Responsibilities:
Assists other departments within GEA to improve our existing process installations.
Input into projects across all phases of the lifecycle (sale, design, review, build, validation, testing, FAT, SAT and start up / troubleshooting.
Participates in studies regarding new processes on the GEA installations.
Supports customer demonstrations and visits to the test center in Wommelgem.
Supports the turnaround of process equipment within the test center in Wommelgem after testing.
Supports process project work on the factory floor where required (FAT, Validation etc.)
Actively participates in achieving the GEA objectives as determined by the management.
Degree in Chemistry, Chemical / Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Graduate in Pharmaceutical and Biological Techniques or equivalent by experience.
Experience in solid dosage pharmaceutical production (validation, production engineers, process development, R&D, formulation) is a huge advantage, but not a must.
Eager to build up knowledge of and experience with pharmaceutical processes (process technology) in an industrial environment and a positive commitment and attitude to expand that knowledge.
Excellent communication skills and able to communicate professionally with customers from different nationalities and cultures.
Knowledge of MS Office applications with particular emphasis on the smooth and extensive use of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
A positive mindset always looking to improve processes and procedures. A problem-solving mindset by nature.
Entrepreneurial and ok to work in higher level of ambiguity from time to time.
No 9-5 mentality.
Languages: English - very good, both spoken as well as written.
Willingness to travel abroad up to 30%.
