Electromix System - Single Piston Pump

A reliable and versatile system designed to homogenize solid dairy manure and liquid into slurry that can be evacuated through small PVC pipe.

The Electromix System includes a low power pump with hydraulically driven piston and the Electromix agitator. This system evacuates dairy manure that has been fully agitated and homogenized through underground line from tied stall or from free stall barns up to the main storage. The manure may contain bedding such as straw or sawdust of a consistency not exceeding 1½" (38 mm). The Electromix pump can be either wall mounted or floor mounted. Most of the time, the Electromix system requires a liquid return line from the main storage back to the reception pit in order to precondition the manure before transfer. It allows minimizing water addition, thus reducing the volume of storage. Have a look at the many possibilities that the Electromix System offers to definitely ease manure handling.

Key Features

  • Available motors: 5 or 7.5 HP (5.5 or 3.7 kW). The 7.5 HP (3.7 kW) motor is available only with the heavy-duty pumping tube option.
  • Stainless steel pumping tube.
  • 3" (76 mm) hydraulic cylinder. 4" (102 mm) hydraulic cylinder supplied with the heavy-duty pumping tube option.
  • Low pressure mechanical reversing system for smooth operation.
  • The pump can be installed to start automatically or manually by means of a control panel.
  • 8" (203 mm) suction pipe of 10 feet (3 m) long maximum.
  • 6" (152 mm) gate valve with insulated handle on liquid return line.
  • 6" (152 mm) air damper.
  • Electromix Agitator.

Application

Evacuates fully agitated manure up to the main storage through underground line. The Electromix system can also feed a digester or a roller press system for manure separation. Performance varies according to installation, manure consistency, quantity and type of bedding. Liquid drawn from storage or grey water addition required.
Straw bedding up to 40 lb per milking cow per day.
PVC Evacuation Requirements:
line of 6” (152 mm) diameter for an evacuation distance up to 200 feet (61 m).
Over 200 feet (61 m) an evacuation line of 8” (203 mm) is required.

Electromix Pump Models

  • Wall mounted
  • Floor mounted with suction pipe close to the wall
  • Floor mounted with suction pipe at 36” (90 cm) from the wall
  • For installation in a service pit

Working Principle

During the siphoning cycle (piston up stroke) the vacuum effect and pressure of manure force the discharge flapper to close and the intake flapper to open to fill the evacuation chamber with manure.
During the evacuation cycle (piston down stroke) the pressure of the manure forces the intake flapper to close and the discharge flapper to open to transfer the manure from the evacuation chamber to the discharge line.

Hydraulic Power Unit

5 or 7.5 HP (5.5 or 3.7 kW).
Electric oil heater available.

Futuro - Single Piston Pump

Futuro - Single Piston Pump

The Futuro is a low power pump with hydraulically driven piston. The large flapper valves inside the evacuation chamber are pressure actuated to evacuate dairy manure through underground line. The flapper valves design and the Futuro heavy-duty manufacturing allow handling manure containing limited amount of bedding such as sand, sawdust, wood shavings and chopped straw. The Futuro pump can be equipped with either a hopper inlet to collect manure from a cross gutter cleaner or from a skid-steer loader or it can be equipped with a suction pipe to be gravity fed. Find out more about what makes the Futuro hydraulic piston pump one of the most reliable equipment offered by GEA.
