Performance beyond IMO standards
The GEA bilge Separator with an integrated direct drive is designed for superior purification of oily water on marine vessels, ensuring minimum residual oil content. This advanced system guarantees an oil content of less than 15 ppm, and for more stringent requirements, even below 5 ppm.
The GEA bilge Separator is a revolutionary solution that delivers maximum performance per square meter, a simplified service concept, and intelligent connectivity.
Unlike conventional systems, the GEA bilge Separator achieves 15 ppm oil content across all performance classes – without additional adsorption filters or chemicals. This is made possible through an optimized bowl and disk stack design, ensuring gentle product feed and enhanced clarification.
Key features include:
GEA bilge Separator
As one of our most resource-efficient solutions, our GEA bilge Separator carries the Add Better label.*
The high-efficiency motor transfers energy directly to the bowl without the use of belts and clutches. This reduces the energy consumption of the GEA bilge Separator by 13% compared to the predecessor model.
*The Add Better label relates to the serial product GEA bilge Separator, released in September 2021. The comparison refers to its predecessor model, the GEA Bilge Master.
As environmental regulations tighten, many shipping companies now require guaranteed residual oil content below 5 ppm. The GEA bilge Separator meets these strict requirements by incorporating an adsorption filter, ensuring compliance with even the most rigorous standards.
The GEA bilge Separator is designed with modular components, allowing flexible installation in any bilge water processing system. The key components include feed pump, automatic filter, preheater, self-discharging separator, oil monitor and control panel.
These components are assembled into two modules (feed pump/preheater unit & separator unit) or can be supplied individually for maximum flexibility, even in confined spaces. An adaptive speed-regulating feed pump automatically adjusts to fluctuating feed conditions, ensuring consistent performance.
Beyond superior separation performance, GEA SafetyMaster adds an extra layer of security:

What if your favorite chocolate didn’t require cocoa beans and your coffee was locally produced? As climate disruption, price hikes and ethical concerns hit two of our most beloved indulgences, scientists are reimagining how we produce them – using microbes, not monocultures. The goal: preserve the flavor and properties of coffee and chocolate while minimizing carbon emissions and improving food resilience.
Ports now compete not just on logistics, but on sustainability. At Greece’s Piraeus port, an advanced processing and recovery facility recycles ship waste oil into fuel. Equipped with GEA’s high-performance centrifuges, it sets a new benchmark for state-of-the-art, environmentally responsible port operations.
The 2022 CO2 shortage forced breweries to review their dependency on global supply chains. Many were forced to close, unable to carbonate their products. At its breweries in Germany, OeTTINGER GETRÄNKE is turning its own CO2 into a powerful lever for independence and sustainability – with the help of CO2 recovery technology from GEA.
