Let’s talk water

Growing water scarcity and increasing costs and regulation require manufacturers to reduce their freshwater withdrawals and wastewater discharge. GEA helps beverage manufacturers tackle these challenges with solutions that minimize water usage within individual process steps and enable its reuse in plants and plant processes. Come to Drinktec and experience the GEA AromaPlus Membrane Dealcoholization Unit with a sustainable option that virtually eliminates freshwater from dealcoholization, GEA SmartFiltration Flush, an intelligent software that cuts fresh water used in CIP flushing processes by 50 percent and the GEA Centrifuge Water Saving Unit, a quick retrofit, that reduces cooling water for the separation process by several hundred liters per operating hour. On top, bottlers of ESL milk-based drinks and sensitive beverages can now benefit from zero water consumption filling solutions with our GEA Whitebloc Aero which combines a sustainable and reliable decontamination container process with great operational flexibility.
Let’s talk efficiency

Due to the constant depletion of almost all resources, efficient processes are becoming more and more relevant. For this reason, GEA launched its Mission 26 with various sustainability goals. But already 20 years ago, GEA Hygienic Valve Technology launched a special cleaning process under the name LEFF® and has continuously developed it until today. By using this process, the operator can realize a particularly effective cleaning of the valve seats of double-seat valves and still save up to 90% cleaning medium compared to conventional cleaning processes. The LEFF® function is integrated as standard in the T.VIS® A-15 control head and can be operated by the user without any additional effort. The T.VIS® A-15 also takes over the monitoring of the function, as well as its feedback to the superimposed control system. This overall functionality allows the T.VIS® A-15 with LEFF® to contribute to a more efficient and safer operation of the customer's plant.
Let’s talk energy

Did you know you can reduce the energy consumption, operating costs and CO₂ emissions of your facility all at the same time? SEnS – GEA's Sustainable Engineering Solutions will enable you to integrate process solutions with cooling & heating demands in the best possible way. What can you expect? A holistic approach by our top experts, resulting in lower energy consumption, minimized operating costs, and reduced carbon footprint. Interested to learn more? Come and also meet with our experts on booth 133 in Hall A4 and discuss our innovative Sustainable Engineering Solutions presented in our dedicated GEA HRT truck.
Let’s talk flexibility

Demand dynamics and economic pressures are forcing manufacturers to shorten innovation times for new products, making equipment flexibility and productivity the most pressing items on the agenda. An example of the flexibility of GEA equipment is the GEA AromaPlus Membrane Dealcoholization Unit, which reduces the alcohol content in beer to < 0.0 percent. This plant is also used for other non-alcoholic beverages such as 0.0% cider. At the same time, the resulting alcoholic base can serve as the basis for hybrid products, in this case trendy beverages containing alcohol, which run just-in-time through a GEA DICON® Continuous In-line Blender. The portfolio is rounded off by the multifunctional GEA Visitron Filler ALL IN ONE, which meets the demand for short changeover times for containers as well as our newly designed filling valve solutions for aseptic filing of sensitive beverages that use magnetic actuators thus bringing flexibility and accuracy to a higher level.
But not only complete plants, also GEA Flow Components show themselves very flexible and modular. GEA Hygienic Pumps can be individually configured for numerous applications and products and can thus be flexibly adapted to customer needs. The same applies to GEA's modular orbital cleaner OC200, which offers various options for nozzles, rotors and stators to meet all customer requirements.
Let’s talk safety

Safety – product safety, process safety and employee safety – is an area where employers can take control, make changes and lay the foundation for a strong, sustainable, future-proof business moving forward. In order to the importance of the topic of safety GEA delivers two innovative products to improve the safety of the costumer’s plant. Firstly, the GEA VARIVENT® Mixproof valve type MX sets a new standard in regards to product and process safety, which goes far beyond previous requirements: The key to this latest advance in the GEA VARIVENT® concept are technical developments in crucial details that make it possible to prevent incompatible media from mixing under all conceivable conditions and thus to meet the highest safety requirements. Secondly; using LoTo (Lock out, Tag Out) devices for hygienic and aseptic valves energy sources will be locked and visually marked to prevent the unintentional movement of the valve. Hence, maintenance and commissioning work can be carried out much more safely than before. With these two products GEA helps the costumers to improve their product, process and employee safety.
Let’s talk digitalization

Real-time monitoring and smart digital solutions that link to equipment and processes in your factories can help you to achieve more efficient, more reliable, and more cost-effective manufacturing. And of course, our experts and a comprehensive range of services are available to support you, every day. Our experts are on hand to discuss your needs, so just come and ask.
Together with big-name breweries, GEA has developed the GEA InsightPartner Brewery software, which captures real-time process management data, monitors production performance and alerts users to deviations. If necessary, brewers can quickly take remedial action in order to streamline the brewhouse and cold block over the long term.
GEA Filling & Packaging has developed the GEA Smart Filling, an operational status monitoring platform to support customers throughout their journey. It monitors and analyses production data in order to create optimized maintenance strategies, receive detailed feedback reports that assist in taking immediate remedy actions and hence maintain the filling line in optimum running conditions.
Let’s talk consumer trends

The COVID-19 pandemic triggered a rise in demand for vitamin-rich, immune-boosting vegetable and fruit juices that is set to last for years to come. Reason enough for GEA to showcase two juice industry innovations that respond to the trends in minimal processing and low-sugar products.
The GEA Better Juice Sugar Converter Skid is the world’s first solution that naturally reduces juice’s sugar content by up to 80 percent, without affecting its nutritional value or authentic taste. Israeli start-up Better Juice invented the biological process, while GEA designed and built the pilot-scale process technology.
Booth space will also be dedicated to the GEA vaculiq 100 juicer, which processes fruit and vegetables to create virtually unadulterated, high-demand drinks. The mobile system is a great choice for small to medium-sized beverage and food producers who want the finished juice to be almost indistinguishable from the fresh raw ingredients.
