
GEA Group in Frisco, TX is searching for an Intern Machinist to join our growing team! This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the production and assembly of precision components. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, safety-conscious, and interested in pursuing a career in machining or manufacturing engineering.
We are looking for this intern to work 20-25 hours a week with a flexible schedule based on class schedule. The position is able to start ASAP and does not have to be in conjunction with school semesters.
Responsibilities:
Assist machinists and engineers with the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC and manual machines (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.)
Perform basic machining tasks such as deburring, cleaning, and inspecting parts for quality
Assist in the assembly of mechanical and electrical parts, wiring harnesses, and control panels
Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Support inventory management by tracking materials and tools
Document work performed and report any issues to supervisors
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols at all times
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
High School degree or equivalent
Currently enrolled in a Technical School (Machining, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field)
Basic understanding of machining processes and tools is preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and take direction
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $21.00 - $28.00 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
