This role is open to candidates based anywhere in the UK.
Supervision & Execution
Execute and/or supervise all activities and tests related to the commissioning of GEA.
Analysis & Recommendations
Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements or corrective actions.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure compliance with existing standards, regulations, and norms while defining GEA-specific standards.
System Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve system issues during the commissioning phase to ensure a smooth transition to operational status.
Review of Protocols & Procedures
Review test and commissioning protocols/procedures developed by GEA and those submitted by manufacturers, product suppliers, and subcontractors.
Commissioning Plan Adherence
Ensure all commissioning-related tests, reports, and checklists align with the commissioning plan.
Refrigeration Plant Commissioning
Commission the refrigeration plant within the agreed timeframe in coordination with the Project Manager.
Coordinate with mechanical and electrical subcontractors to ensure seamless execution.
Client Communication
Maintain clear and effective communication with the client as required.
Component Identification
Identify any new or unfamiliar components that may impact the commissioning process.
Documentation & Review
Review commissioning log sheets and paperwork, ensuring all default settings are properly incorporated.
Assess time scales for project completion and adjust as needed.
Resource & Equipment Verification
Confirm availability of all necessary equipment required for testing.
Ensure that all safety equipment is either available or scheduled to be available for commissioning.
Verify that power, water, and air supplies are available or scheduled to be available for commissioning.
Warranty & Issue Resolution
Collect, report, and take action on warranty-related issues identified during commissioning.
Conduct plant walkthroughs to observe general operating conditions.
Address any arising issues related to plant operation or warranty.
SCADA Monitoring & System Checks
Ensure SCADA trending and historical alarms are properly set up and recording for future analysis.
Qualifications: Engineering or technical qualification, ideally in industrial refrigeration, with certifications in Ammonia and CO₂.
Experience: Several years of practical experience and in-depth knowledge of commissioning industrial refrigeration systems.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical diagrams and schematics.
Familiarity with refrigeration commissioning standards.
Ability to understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
Strong grasp of control descriptions.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexibility & Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to construction sites across the UK and Ireland.
Commitment: Must be prepared to work away from home as required.
