Your responsibilities and tasks:

SUMMARY Using various tools and surface finishing media, grinds, polishes and blasts stainless steel components so that their surface finish matches specified GEA standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Uses blueprints to understand the surface finish requirements of each individual project.
  • Uses various pneumatic tools in order to achieve the desired / specified surface finish for each project.
  • Polishes, grinds and cleans metal surfaces and welds which at times requires working from heights and in a confined space for up to two (2) hour increments.
  • Operates hand trucks, carts, pallet trucks and hoists for movement of materials.
  • Detects defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and reports to appropriate lead or supervisor.
  • Adheres to company safety policies, procedural guidelines and works in a consistently safe manner.
  • -Actively participates in company continuous improvement initiatives.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Degree or certificate from technical welding school is preferred.
  • Must have a basic understand of relevant welding processes. 
  • Ability to understand the difference between chemical requirements and dairy 3A standards.
  • Must know the different surface finishes on stainless sheet steel and how to protect the surfaces
  • Must have good blueprint reading skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
