We are searching for a Field Service Technician to join our Midwest Team!
Responsibilities:
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment
Provides technical support to customers including troubleshooting and problem resolution
Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines
Provides training of customers’ operators and maintenance personnel
Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules
Highschool Diploma or GED required, Bachelors or Technical Degree preferred
5 years of hands-on technical experience on electro-mechanical systems as applied to state-of-the-art industrial machinery
Strong electrical aptitude, including motors, AC & servo drives, electrical circuitry, PLC, and PC based control systems
Strong mechanical aptitude including power transmission systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Experienced troubleshooter on electro-mechanical systems
Excellent communications skills - must be proficient in English, have strong listening skills, and enjoy working with people
Strong customer service orientation with a “do whatever it takes” attitude
Able to multi-task and work under extreme pressure
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and highly organized. Must be able to work independently.
Excellent computer literacy including, knowledge of MS Word and Excel
Able to travel extensively (up to 90%) including, weekend trips and on short notice.
Be able to read/understand blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good eye-hand coordination, ability to bend, to lift 50-75 lbs potentially up to 100 lbs with assistance.
Ability to stand long periods of time through 10 hour workdays.
Ability to evaluate and solve problems in a logical manner.
Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Understanding and use of job safety precautions (OSHA knowledge) particularly regarding Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, Working at heights correctly, and with proper safety mechanisms in place.
Ability to drive a motor vehicle
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $36.46 - $44.62 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
