The Project Engineer will design, execute and provide project management of GEA Custom Engineered Refrigeration Product contracts throughout engineering design, order execution and commissioning. Position holder will interact with many groups within GEA including: the Product Costing Group, the Sales team, the Global Operations factory for product manufacturing & scheduling, and Service Support for startup & system troubleshooting.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Performs routine engineering work assignments requiring application of standard industry engineering techniques and procedures.
Executes contracts per packaged systems instructions within job budget and time constraints.
Provides necessary contract documentation for customer/shop requirements and subsequent follow-up assistance as required.
Works with drafters to implement shop and customer drawings and/or bills of materials.
Strives for complete customer satisfaction by working closely with all GEA organization units to ensure successful project execution, including supporting GEA Service Support (technical support and warranty group) with problem resolution during system commissioning.
Responds to customer questions and troubleshoots, investigates and resolves technical problems that arise during project execution and system commissioning phases.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum Experience: Recent graduate - no work experience necessary. Will consider experienced applicants in application and/or development of products for industrial refrigeration.
Minimum Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong technical, analytical and organizational skills; ability to problem solve and resolve issues, detail oriented, strong interpersonal skills.
Highly desirable traits or skills: Knowledge of Industrial. Refrigeration and/or HVAC; strong commitment to customer satisfaction, including other GEA organization units who provide project support; strong sense of urgency for task completion while ensuring accurate and quality results; creative problem-solving skills with the ability to envision ideas others may not.
Physical Requirements:
Sit for up to 8 hours per day.
Must be able to lift/carry 10-15 lbs. occasionally.
Sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard.
May occasionally be exposed to manufacturing areas that may require personal protective equipment.
May occasionally be exposed to manufacturing work environment that is hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet and/or noisy.
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $82,425.00 - $109,900.00 per year. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
