Dear Future You,

It feels like these past two years have just flown by!

All the more reason to press pause and look back at your achievements since you joined GEA as Large Project Controller. Because there have been many! You’ve been responsible for controlling more than just one major liquid & powder tech project in North America. And as such, you’ve proven to be an invaluable link in the information chain, coordinating financial reporting across multiple (global) entities and keeping senior management in sync with the big picture. I know you already came to us with plenty of experience in percentage-of-completion accounting and you’re no rooky at managing large and complex projects either. But maybe that’s why it’s all the more satisfying to see your analytical skills and proactive mindset blossom on a truly global scale at GEA. 

Complexity calls for collaboration.

You know that better than anyone. Hence my admiration of your ability to work closely, effectively, and efficiently, not only with project directorsandmanagersbut a whole string ofkey business partnersfromproject analyststo ourshared services,procurement, andaccountingteams. You’ve been extremely effective inanalyzing the performanceof each project,monitoring KPIsat every stage and at every tier, in real time. Most importantly, you’ve not only scheduledregular project reviewsbut proactively communicated their results. In fact, your comprehensivebudgetsand succinctfinancial projectionshave proven to be invaluable decision-making tools for our steering committee.

Your efforts have repeatedly made the difference.

And while it might be hard to see the direct impact of those efforts from behind the scenes, I’m here to confirm it: your skill and insight have safeguarded the success of our ventures on many occasions. And rest assured, that has not gone unnoticed. We pride ourselves on recognizing talent and rewarding performance here at GEA. Which is why I’m keen to talk with you about the next chapter.

What does the future hold?

A lot of that is down to you. You’ve proven you have what it takes to get the job done. And there is a myriad of opportunities at GEA to develop your expertise in new directions. Let’s meet soon to discuss some of them.
